Another One Bites the Dust (Baptist Admits to Molestations)

As sad as this is, another community leader and retired police detective pleads guilty to having committed s3x acts with two children.

Does it seem like this is becoming commonplace (Christian leaders admitting to s3x crimes with children and teens) or is it simply the fact that there is so much more media coverage today than, say, ten, twenty or forty years ago?

I can never understand how a person with years of college education and experience, or, in this case, years of community service and experience in law enforcement, can give into such sick sinful practices. It seems like such a waste of talent, and a major betrayal to the community and more than anything, Jesus! :tear::tear::tear:

What are your thoughts about people who invest year's (and dollars) and personal effort into their careers just to give it all away for a few minutes (here and there) of sensual pleasure and sin??? What a waste and loss to all they have deceived....:type:

Sin will take you farther than you want to go and keep you longer than you want to stay.

I did not read the article, as I have heard more than I care to hear about the failings of those we were supposed to have been able to trust. A tall tree and a short rope would take care of a lot of that. But now those children will have to live with what that piece of */~%? did to them.

I heard on the radio today of a preacher that was arrested for breaking into someone's home stealing prescription drugs. I was over in Alabama and Tennessee today, but can't remember which state I was in when I heard it and don't know if they even said it was from either of those states or somewhere else.

I do suppose this has been going on for years and only until the advent of the internet this type of story often just never made it outside of a local community. Now, news of such perversion spreads around the country in seconds.

The number of people in positions of authority falling for and being exposed to such actions are incredible. Football coaches, Judges, Pastors, Priests, School Teachers, Principals, Boy Scout Leaders..., is just down right shameful. Not to mention scary.

...being a kid in today's climate is a frightful thing. In a way, it seems like the age old practice of sacrificing children on some ghoulish, blood thirsty alter is back in vogue. What a shame.

It is not the type of sin but the heart of the sinner. Some use drugs or alcohol, or porn or gambling or get thrills out of harming someone else physically. All stems from an evil heart and one that needs to repent and come to faith for true cleansing. The problem is when we hold them to be a greater sinner then we are and even put tags on them that we would not put on ourselves. To not be able to understand how or why someone can do a certain kind of sin is an admission that we think our sin is more righteous. To think of them as low life's, garbage, pieces of this or that, or any other name (raca) we might put on them shows we are the ones who need some serious understanding of who we really are as we are in much greater danger then they ever have been.

Matt 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

If we really do not know who they are, or how they could do the sin they do, and think of them as greater sinners then we are, or their sin more disgusting then ours, then just look in the mirror and know these are just some of those who Christ died for. I hope we are praying for those who are sinners rather the seeing our sins as more righteous then theirs.
