Actually, we are looking into that right now. Our pastor is also looking into advertising at his alma mater for a Spanish speaking man to plant a Hispanic SBC church in our church's community that we would sponsor. i may rant about stuff, but God keeps me in line about it.tinytim said:How many of you complaining about people not speaking English are willing to teach ESL classes to help them learn English
If I were to move to Germany I would learn German. If I were to move to Russia I would learn Russian. If I were to move to France... well, that ain't happening. The difference is that I would learn and use the language of the land so as to be able to communicate. The US government has bent over backwards for everyone else in the world for so long that people who come here demand to have things in their own language instead of working on learning English.tinytim said:It amazes me of all the people that ONLY knows English complaining about immigrants.. when a lot of the immigrants are able to speak more than one language.. some many languages....
Same here, on a mission trip to Colima, Mexico. We held a VBS and a lay revival and it was awesome. And, yes, we all learned as much Spanish as we could before we went. No one had to hold our hands or interpret everything for us... although we used, "Habla lentamente" quite a bit.tinytim said:Some of the most powerful services i have been in lately are services where I have worshipped in both Spanish and English...
I still see their souls and their need for Christ. I am doing what I can to try to reach them. Their refusal to learn or speak English makes that a lot harder than it has to be, but the devil will use whatever he can to hold on to as many as he can.tintim said:I used to think the way many have.. until God changed my mind, and showed me that I was being sinful by putting my American citizenship ahead of my Heavenly citizenship.
