Yup... They were confused by some of the prophetic language that indicated (to them) that Christ would return before THEY died.

So is that why pretierists/amil point to that as signs that Church did not hold/teach that jesus would literally return to earth to set up His future Kingdom, as they would have known it if jesus returned in that fashion?

Why is it that so many interpretations of God's future actions fall short of the complete picture (as does your interpretation and mine as well)?

When you can answer that question definitively, I will also probably be able to provide a response to your question. I expect to wait a long time... :smilewinkgrin:
