I attended church with Todd Friel when he was first starting out. He was all about promoting Todd Friel and his radio program. He has a schtick, like the hucksters at CNN, FOX and MSNBC. His on air personality is purely manufactured to draw in viewers. I find him to be not genuine from a bit of an insiders view.

The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) believes that either God is restoring the offices of apostle and prophet, or that they have always existed but are in the End Times, always assumed to be the present day, they are flourishing in a way not seen since the 1st century church of the apostles.

That said, I was in the NAR for years. It is bad news, all the way. When I first came to this message board I was under the sway of the NAR and believed myself to be a prophet. I was shown by this board through a series of discussions that I was not a prophet. I came out of the NAR for a time, but went back in and abandoned those on this board. It would take more correction from God our Father in heaven to both come back to this board and listen to those apologists and evangelists calling people out of the NAR. Some were just confused Christians taken in by tickled ears or they were unbelievers not knowing their true fate.

I came to the conclusion that I was the former as I put together my testimony, since I had come to faith in Jesus Christ only six months prior to first posting on this board. God would continuously discipline and rebuke me out of this deception. Thank God for His grace to do so in the first place and to keep it up!

I call the NAR bad news for a great variety of reasons, that would be hard to explain in multiple posts. I normally send people to this Youtube ministry that helped me immensely. Although, I caution people that the teacher is a Lutheran and I am against a variety of Lutheran doctrines, since they are not biblical.

That doesn't surprise me, but then again Todd is clearly "on air" and evangelizing by using a kind of comedic act to appeal to unbelievers, the young especially. I would hope he wasn't like his "on air" personality all the time. I know his wife would have offed him by now (j/k). However, this does bring up the key question of "should Christians use a comedic act that isn't 100% genuine to who we are to evangelize?" That style of comedic evangelism is expanding, I know of some that use it in a pointed way to make fun of nonChristians. Should we be doing so? I guess is the million dollar question.

I read through it. Very dismissive of a very dangerous movement. I still remember footage of a young girl jerking in the spirit trying to give her testimony at Bickel's church. Very sad. She's likely no longer in the Church or wanting anything to do with Church, and she likely repulsed the teens she was trying to reach.

In my opinion, the Michael L. Browns and Francis Chans of the world are doing much harm to the Church by dismissing this very dangerous non-christian movement that many Christians are trapped in. Since there are sincere Christians in it, we should be all the more diligent in warning them. The question is, how? I didn't like Brown's suggestions.

I was in IHOP and they believe there is a third world war coming with nuclear wespons used, but Kansas City will be spared and become a new Jerusalem by sending out supernatural missionaries. It gets even worse than that the deeper you go. Yet, Dr. Brown defends IHOP in the article.

I Don't care what we call the NAR, hyper-charismatic may work, but to defend false teachers, who are clearly false is evil. I find the article is a defense of the hyper-charismatic that smugly warns people against "conspiracy theorists" while calling people to embrace false teaching. I would expect such out of Rome's Magisterium.

These false Apostles and prophets claim to be getting new revelations from God, but their theology contradicts the Bible. and they claim one must listen to them or have God against you!
