Yes, I have no reason to believe that this was not from the Lord.

IMO, this (and other events of the period) was what Joel was prophesying about in Joel chapter 2.

I realize that Peter thought Joel's prophecy was being fulfilled at Pentecost.
He could easily have been correct ... or he could have been mistakened.

Or was the Joel 2 reference just another of God's double-meaning prophecies, statements, etc.?
As I recall, there are even triple-meaning prophecies, statements, etc.
