I'm currently homeschooling my two younger children grades 5 and 7. They have been homeschooled since kindergarten. I homeschooled my oldest from 2nd through 8th grade and the next one from 1st through 8th grade. The older girls went to the public high school for 9-12th grades.

Me, but not for long. Jen is headed back to public school in January and Chris graduates in May. I'm going to miss it but its what's best for us right now.

My wife has homeschooled our 4 children since the oldest was in second grade. Oldest has graduated college; two oldest are out of the house and working.

And neither of them have expressed any need for "recovery".

Some need it, some don't. Some need it but don't realize they do.

Homeschooling is often a very good thing. For other children, it's not the right choice, no matter how badly parents want to do it.

And some parents don't homeschool well.

Boy that is sure true.
Some do it very well. Disciplined and organized and it is a great benefit to the children.
Some are horrendous. Lazy and completely unorganized. The children suffer greatly. Sadly we have some next door neighbors that are in this category. They got mad at the local school district so they pulled their kids because suddenly God was "calling" them to homeschool. They have no idea what they are doing.

Same thing can be said about public or private schools. So one has to wonder why, when someone started a thread asking who's homeschooling and several people replied saying they were, you felt it was necessary to jump in with a derogatory attitude.

We are in our 14th year of homeschooling. Our older son was first in a Christian school and then homeschooled for grades 7-12. When he was done with school, our younger son was ready for K and is now in 7th grade. Having one student at a time has been just fine with me.

I really don't want my son in the public schools here, but I have health issues these days so I'm not sure from one year to the next if I'll continue with it.

Do we currently have any homeschoolers here at the Board?
even though, I don't have kids, or grandkids, I am in total favor od homeschooling. These days kids are taught garbage, filth that would have been unthinkable when we were in school. With the three R's being virtually eliminated in favor of politically correct mumbo jumbo, bad being taught as okay and it is not, nor will it ever be. the bathroom debacle and the dumbing down of the education, I can see why parents or grandparents choose to homeschool their kids and grandchildren

Are kidz wer home skoold and did grate! ;-) We are in our 25th year. 4 graduated (now 31,30,29, and 28) and all relatively functional members of society. :) More importantly, all love their God with their whole hearts and serve Him faithfully in their local churches. 16 year old twins still in process.
