Any photographers here?

What camera do you use as your primary camera? Are you locked into a brand? What type photography do you enjoy? What keeps you inspired?

I ask these questions because I am a photographer. I can't afford a pro camera so I use a Nikon D3000 as my primary camera and then I have a Canon T3i as a secondary. I don't care about brand but if asked the Nikon is my favorite.

I enjoy landscape and event photography the most but occasionally branch out into portraits.

I am having a hard time lately with inspiration that I actually blame on winter weather...there is just nothing that is pretty here...just lots of mud!

I have been published: 4 CDs by local musicians have used my work and design, 3 book covers for an Abe Lincoln portrayer, photos in a book by another author, and the most recent is a photo in a tourism calendar for Letcher County, Kentucky.

I have also shot photos behind the scenes of a music video shot locally. Plus I sometimes venture into photo montages and videos for local musicians and venues.

Tell me about your work... please...

Hello. Are you still around on the forums?

I'm using a Canon 5D Mark IV and I am like you in that I like a bit of all sorts. Right now I am wanting to try a bit more wildlife photography and videography. My next lens will be the Tamron 150-600mm G2(they have improved the auto focus a lot, as well as sharpness), so I am excited to be able to photograph birds and also things like deer better than I can currently.

Yours in the Lord,

PTL

I am constantly clicking the camera. I have nothing serious as regards equipment now - just a Cool Pix, my cellphone and a Sony video camera. I have no problem with inspiration as I see lots of things as I do my job as a trucker.

Years ago in the early 1970's I was in the service and was stationed in Japan. My first decent camera was a Canon FTB, and I also had bought the top of the line Canon Super 8 movie camera. My next one was a Canon AE which was all I could afford. I desperately wanted a Canon F1 or the top Nikon but both were out of my price range. I had lots of fun and got some great shots in the process. Photography is just a great hobby and the possibility of making some money is there as you have experienced.
