Any thoughts On Upcoming Son of God and Noah Movies?

Actually, they're not Christians. They're Catholics who practice a mixture of Catholicism and New Age beliefs.

Not sure where you got your information that nobody had a problem with The Bible, but many people had a problem with it. Chris Rosebrough, Todd Friel, Al Mohler, and Mike Abendroth devoted multiple programs to critiquing it.
Ah! Well, no wonder I didn't hear about it. I don't listen to closet Calvinists.

What's "closet" about those guys? They're very overt that they're Reformed in their theology.

Love it! Just more examples of Calvinists knowing that surely God hasn't unconditionally elected someone while simultaneously not knowing for sure if they themselves are elect!

I see reading comprehension still is not your friend. I never said they might not be among the elect. I said that, as it stands now, they're not Christians.

Aren't they actually 'commited catholics?"

And my big beef with the Bibleshow was that Jesus was shown as being God, died/resurrected, but NO mention of Him dying for sins, nor man being sinners, and perishing due to that! More like the Love of God, that jesus died to show us love of God, but NOT as a propiation/atonement for sinners!

And why do you have this 'thing' about calvinists/ We are not all the same in our views, you know!

No calvinists would make the statement that they were not even sure that God had chosen them as one of the Elect!

A Calvinist pastor at a church I left 5 years ago flat out told us that the Puritans believed that no one could know they were elect until they were dead. Several Calvinists on this board have been asked if they knew they were elect and they have refused to answer the question.

Back to the OP, and leaving the Cal/Non-Cal debate: I would probably rent the Son of God movie, just to see how they handle it.

think the movie IS the one presented already in the bible, just edited down from4 to 2 hours!

just think there can be christian themed movies made by believers today, even in hollywood!

How About new 10 commandments, chuck Norris as Angel of death?

Whatever it takes to sell tickets and popcorn.

Making money off the gospel does not have eternal rewards. Verily, they have their reward.

Does Hollywood and Pinewood ever have free movies and popcorn?

Preach the Word; let The Holy Spirit take care of the rest.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Do most preachers, pastors and evangelists preach for free.....I suspect not. Granted, great respect is due for those who engage in a truly bivocational ministry, but the demands of even an moderately sized church require the attention of those called to a profession of ministry.

You're in the habit of making silly statements like the above all too often TND. I can add the above to your opinion that there is no such thing as good discrimination.

The fact that he thinks they're "closeted" in their Reformed theology just shows that he has no idea what he's talking about.

Christian Post pretty well sums up with an accurate critique. There are two basic drivers for the unbiblical slants to religious movies: the producers are New Age, Scientologists, atheists and agnostics driven by the love of money. There are also some Virgin Mary worshipers in there.(the second driver) Sorry, I left out the apostate descendants of the Pharisees-- who provide much of the funding.

It is expensive living off Sunset Blvd. and along the fast disappearing California coastline.

Want to know the real Jesus? I will send a copy of the real gospel--free of charge. The price of admission to heaven has been paid in full by the blood of Jesus. Oh what a Savior!!

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Not so much since they had Della Reese perform their wedding. Not only is she not a priest (who, according to the Catholic faith should be the one to perform the wedding), she's into New Age spiritualism.

I'm what might be considered a Calvinist and I know 100% for certain that I am elect. :) So there you go! Yes, a Calvinist can know 100% for sure that they are elect.

I've only heard the radio ads for Son of God. There is a segment where Jesus says, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Light" and his voice is hissing the words. Frankly, it sounds scary.

I've seen a TV commercial for Noah and the special effects and overall "look" of the film looked like a video game. My 16 year old son remarked, "this is terrible!" before they showed the title of the movie at the end of the commercial. That's when I realized it was "Noah", the movie.
