Inspectors detailed how, when they visited several the facilities earlier this month, they found adults and minors with no access to showers. Many adults were only fed bologna sandwiches, and detainees were seen banging on cell windows — pressing notes to the windows that detailed their time in custody.

Inspectors described the conditions as "dangerous" and "prolonged." Some adults were held in standing-room-only conditions for a week. There was little access to hot showers or hot food for families and children in some facilities.

Doesn't that assume she is trying to be honest in her assessment? Given her record, why wouldn’t she be just as likely to claim she knows what she’s talking about and still make the same false accusations? And since she has voted down bills to extend aid to these centers, why should anyone think she cares beyond making political points?

Back to the o/p - how silly - there are no plumes of smoke coming from furnaces burning the bodies of the "captured" and murdered along our southern border although I understand that cremation is in order for the extracted dead bodies of the babies of abortion and infanticide. Horrible but true.

Oh, sorry if I left the impression that Pelosi was saying anything other than AOC had a very safe district. I was just trying to say that Pelosi said that a glass of water could be elected if it were Democrat in that district.

The GOP is saying that Trump and Kim Jong-un shaking hands at the DMZ was a Nobel Prize moment, but your observation that the Nobel Prize will go to AOC, perhaps for her tears at the parking lot fence, will win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Yes. Much of Latin America is squalid so it could be that the people in our facilities actually are better off there than at home. I was in an emergency shelter during a blizzard here in Indianapolis during the late 1970s and it was not very nice and there are some rescue missions in Indianapolis that in years gone by were not very good either. My opinion is that a loophole in our law forces us to shelter these people when we should have the ability to refuse them to set one foot on American soil. So the Democrats, in my opinion, have refused to end this problem and now are trying to cash in on it with bad publicity for the president. Years ago I saw inside LaTuna Federal Prison in New Mexico where many illegals were imprisoned for violating US border law. It was much better than a lot of Mexico 50 years ago so that the sentence was light if you never had electricity, running water, a clean bed, and three meals a day in your whole life. They probably even gave you a toothbrush and toothpaste. I know that the Colombian government is working very hard to distribute toothbrushes and toothpaste to coffee plantation workers in rural areas of Colombia so maybe the dumpster fire that is Latin America can be extinguished someday. I don't believe that God wants human beings to be trapped in squalor and repression. One of General Booth's sons came to him and told him that there were people sleeping on the streets of London, and the Founder of The Salvation Army roared at him, Don't just stand there, do something! Or as The Salvation Army says, Others.
