I am currently preaching through Ezekiel 36:16-38, and I have been struck by the absolute sovereignty of God in salvation depicted in those verses.
v.23. 'I will sanctify My great name.....'
v.24. 'I will take you from among the nations.....'
v.25. 'I will sprinkle clean water......I will cleanse you.....'
v.26. 'I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit......I will take the heart of stone out......'
v.27. 'I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk......'
v.29. 'I will deliver you......'
v.30 'I will multiply........'
v.32. 'Not for your sake do I do this.......'
v.33. 'I will also enable you.......'
v.36. 'I, the LORD, have rebuilt the ruined places.......'
v.37. 'I will also let the House of Israel inquire.......I will increase their men.....'

v.38. 'Then they shall know that I am the LORD.'

Jonah 2:9. 'Salvation is of the LORD.'

Extraordinary Worship.

Wonderful to repeat back to The God Who wrote them;

v.23. Dear God Almighty, YOU SAID: 'I will sanctify My great name.....'
v.24. YOU SAID: 'I will take you from among the nations.....'
v.25. YOU SAID: 'I will sprinkle clean water......I will cleanse you.....'
v.26. YOU SAID: 'I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit......& YOU SAID: I will take the heart of stone out......'
v.27. YOU SAID: 'I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk......'
v.29. YOU SAID: 'I will deliver you......'
v.30 YOU SAID: 'I will multiply........'
v.32. YOU SAID:'Not for your sake do I do this.......'
v.33. YOU SAID: 'I will also enable you.......'
v.36. YOU SAID:'I, the LORD, have rebuilt the ruined places.......'
v.37. YOU SAID: 'I will also let the House of Israel inquire.......& YOU SAID: I will increase their men.....'

v.38. & YOU SAID:'Then they shall know that I am the LORD.'

Jonah 2:9. YOU SAID: 'Salvation is of the LORD.'

Saying God cannot do this or that is absurd. From Scripture we have ample examples where God has chosen to act according to His attributes, and therefore we can rely upon His promises, such as to never leave us. But God does as He pleases, so to make a claim for God not being able to do as He pleases seems wide of the mark.
