Apple needs to release OSX for PC's

    Not quite. Apple actually sued Microsoft over the similarity of the look and feel of Windows to the old Mac OS. Of course, Xerox could have said the same thing about the Mac OS copying concepts from PARC.

    It is my understanding that Xerox essentially gave teh GUI concept to APple and that later, many of the people who worked on the PARC project went to Apple from Xerox.
