Architect of Obamacare said that:

"the bill was written in a way that was tortured in order to make sure the CBO does not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scores the mandate as taxes the bill dies."

"Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage, call it the stupidity of the American people or whatever, but basically that is what it took to get the thing passed."

It's an old tactic. Both parties have used it repeatedly. It's not illegal. What should be illegal is passing a bill you haven't read.

Who said anything about it being illegal?

The old "So do they" tactic to avoid dealing with the issue but criticizing it even being brought up tactic. What someone else does is irrelevant. It is also an informal fallacy (two wrongs).

If both sides are doing it, then folks need to address the wrong that both sides are doing if it really is an issue with them.

Otherwise, it just smells of attempting to partisanly make a news story out of something folks already know to be taking place.

They were discussing this today on Family Talk radio with a member of ACLJ.
Linked is their article:
ObamaCareIncompetence Is Their Only Defense: Understanding the Latest Obamacare SCOTUS Case

By David French

At the bottom of the page is where you can choose to sign their petition and have that be part of the brief the ACLJ is going to present to SCOTUS.
*note* there is a donation button to assist ACLJ in their pursuit of this appeal however, you do not have to donate in order to add your name to the petition.

Uh no, show me a bill the Republicans worked to pass in which they said you need to pass it to find out what is in it.

When accuse someone else or the other side of doing the same thing it looks like you want to obfuscate the issue to protect what is currently being done.

The guy in the video was talking about transparency and how things were purposely obfuscated so that the CBO wouldn't score the mandate as taxes.

Both sides do the same type of obfuscation on purpose because it allows the bills to cover stuff that the American people haven't even imagined.

The Republicans do it and the Dems do it. And both sides might as well acknowledge it. This particular one just happens to be newsworthy because it was something President Obama pushed.

We could say the same thing about the Patriot Act of the Bush Administration. Again, purposely obfuscated to leave the door open for all types of unConstitutional mess.

Obama kept the Patriot Act and he is the messiah.

As for Obamacare, it was hidden about the cost because Democrats thought that it was free healthcare and the MIT economist looked down his nose at the American people and said that they had to lie because of the stupidity of the American people. That stupidity includes Dems.

So you can't show me one. I see.

So you can't show me one. I see.

What you should be seeing is that the question you asked has nothing to do with what the gentleman in the video was talking about.

So why would I attempt to show you something that has nothing to do with the topic of discussion? So that you're not confused, It's not a can't. It's an ain't. As your question has NOTHING to do with what the gentleman said.

It's not that I doubt you brother, but Rev gave a solid piece of evidence regarding the deception. You make a claim that 'both sides' use the same tactic AND I would love to see something that supports your claims.

So, put up, or shut up? :type:

And I'll say to you just as I said to Rev. He said

And as I said, that's not what the gentleman in the video was speaking to. SO there's nothing for me to put up or shut up about as what he stated has NOTHING to do with the video. Both sides have produced bills for years that are purposely non-specific so that they can have the leeway to do whatever they want.

But to go ahead and shut both of you up, Poncho has this thread http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=96493

Seriously, now!

Is there anybody here that did not know that Obamacare was marketed by Obama and democrats using a pack of lies and phony math?

Really. Anybody?

The only surprise is to hear anyone involved admit it.
