Are all born-again Christians part of God’s elect???

Let's take a break from the Holy Spirit baptism and cessationism!
I have something else to bug you about ...

Scripture references are available for all of the points in blue.

God’s elect are foreknown, predestined, chosen, called
God’s guardian angels protect God’s elect (at least until they become believers)
God gives the gift of faith to His elect
God gives His elect to Jesus
God creates born-again believers by placing the Holy Spirit in their hearts
Believers are warned to first count the cost before continuing
God’s plan has always been to accomplish His goals with the co-operation of man
Sanctification … “God chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit”
Major points of sanctification: holiness, perfection, love, forgiveness
Church members are given a multitude of dire warnings to pursue holiness
God promises born-again believers that they will be sanctified, IF they really co-operate

IMO, it is possible for a born-again Christian to NOT co-operate with being sanctified.

So IMO, there are 3 types of people in the churches (along with the curious and the seekers):
(1) the converted ... believe the gospel in their minds, but not in their hearts
(2) the born-again ... have been given the Holy Spirit in their hearts, but resist full sanctification
(3) the elect ... really willing to pay the price to be sanctified unto holiness by the Holy Spirit

Bottom line ... IMO, it is possible to be born-again, but not part of the elect who attain salvation.

Of cource they are.

The elect are the whosoever wills. God saves the the whosoever wills. Those who choose to place thier faith in Christ. It is no more complcated then that.

I say this kindly, but that is a bunch of non-sensical gobbldegoop. It is simply a man made system that is excedingly false

God bless

Of course not. Only the Baptists are the elect.
Look at Scripture.

Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
--Now Paul had gathered together the pastors from the First Baptist Church at Ephesus (verse 17), and this is the admonition he is giving them.

But notice that he says that it is God that purchased that church (the First Baptist Church of Ephesus) with his own blood. Jesus died just for the Baptist. Only Baptists can be of the "elect." We all know that.

Hallelujah....

This is not possible.

...we have come together on something of true importance in the realm of theology! And the sky is still above us both, and at least at my house; the roof is still where it was before I read this.

To be born-again, is to be the "elect" because by the blood of Jesus; the Grace of God; and our confession of faith....we have been adopted/elected/returned to the "family of God!" It is not a right; but defintiely a gift! :applause:

Hope that you are now claiming to have taught this by the Holy spirit, as the Lord ONLY knows of @ types of people...

Saved/born again/converted spiritual alive again in christ

Lost/unsaved spiritual dead and in Adam still!

Born again saints ARE the elect, there cannot be any other christian save one BOTH born again and elect of good, the the new birth confirms they were chosen to bY God to become saved by death of Christ for their behalf!

Everyone is hereby invited to explain to everyone else ...

Exactly WHO in the church were all of the many many dire warnings written to?

Hint: there are several possible answers.

have to explain why we are warned to watch against lax living, even though we also know Christians are secured forever in Christ by the Will of God!

who has ALRAEDY overcame the World? Since all are in him, all shall also overcome, for God Himself wioll make sure that Happens, as per Jude!

I like your yepping to the above.

I'm ignorant and curious both ... Is this mainline Baptist doctrine?

.

The eklect will be saved by the grace of God, for God dtermined that the death of jesus provoded propiation of their sins before the father, the Holy Spirit indwells and seals forever all thsoe of the Elect..

NO scripture support for one is elect, and not born again, nor that they are 2 seperate groups!

A new revelation for me today ...
... the similarity between Lucifer and some born-again Christians! ... Don't laugh!
(And even Saul and others in the OT.)

Explanation ...
Lucifer was God's anointed arch-angel ... His #1 created being in the whole universe!
He was even in a position over Michael and Gabriel.
Did this lofty position hold any guarantees ... that he would stay in God's good graces?
NO ... because obedience is king.

If God's #1 was thrown out because of disobedience, how about us?

Those who run from being obedient to what they have been given revelation about
... are thrown out ... disqualified.

This is where (and how) free will enters into the picture! ... WOW!

Election means that God has given the gift of faith necessary to believe the "foolish" gospel.
And the conviction of the Holy Spirit makes it very difficult to refuse to believe this new revelation.

God's Amazing Grace ...
-- granted to the human race in general ... the chance to escape hell.
-- granted to the born-again believer ... the chance to co-operate with being sanctified unto salvation.

Only those chosen unto salvation in Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world are born again.
Okay, this is all very exciting OSAS stuff, but ...
What about all of those many many dire warnings written to the churches?
What are these all about?

And you haven't touched on the dire parallel between ...
the free-will choice of Satan to disobey ... and ... our free-will choice to disobey.

One topic at a time, please.
First, are you saved and how do you know?
Second, If you are saved, do you have an assurance of your salvation, and how do you know?
Third, how does "an assurance of salvation" differ from "OSAS"?

I don't need to. Scripture is what it is and no one can change that! The question was: Are all born-again Christians part of God’s elect? I answered that question.

If they do not have the Spriit of Christ residing in them, NOT saved, if not elected by God, no Spirit in them, so HAVE to be BOTH!

I'm probably going to disagree with everyone here. Elect means simply chosen, and biblicaly speaking, set apart. There are only 3 cases of the elect in Scripture. Christ (Mine Elect), elect Angels and The Elect (believing Jews, true Israel 'not all Israel is Israel).

We as believing Gentiles like to insert ourselves into this third group, maybe out of not understanding the audience being written to, the author writing it, or out of pride. Each instance the phrase is used it is referring to one of the above 3.

ALL sinners that have been saved by the Grace of God thought are the elect of God!

Regardless if you see it being due to God deternming their salvation beforehand by Divine Election based upon his Will alone, or else by him 'seeing" our faith response, still would make us the elect of God!
