Pretrib/posttrib, there is a mix. Academics hold both positions. This is related ot church=spiritual Israel. It is a matter of eschatology. Alcohol and women preachers the same. No academic that I know of argues that women must wear dresses.

The former moderator in question was calvinistic though he would reject the name I believe. He believed very close to what I believe about salvation.

You're right, I triggered off information you 'quoted'. My apology.

We have fishermen and tax collectors in our congregation...and construction workers and teachers and bankers and farmers and.....

Fellows, as always you are looking at the physical and disregarding the Spiritual.

Amen Bro. James Reed for showing the correct position at the Lord's Table. I would not expect any sound church to permit me to their table, even if they were of like faith and practice as my own where my membership is held, nor would I expect any to seek to be included at the Lord's Table in our congregation apart from holding a membership there.

None of that has anything to do with the physical occupation or 'social' stratification found within our congregation.

    God Bless.

One God, One Faith, One Baptism, Separation for communion which is "remembrance of the one God the Son, the source of One Faith and One Baptism"

That is what you are professing! And it does not make sense for the Body of Christ or the Bride of Christ.

Eph. 4.4-6 has nothing to do with what you are claiming. But I find my earlier post and this resultant post has nothing to do with the topic of this thread, nor really with this debate.

But, if you want to attempt what you believe, then remain true to Ephesians 4.3 by using your view of vss. 4-6; if you will hold yourself to all of Scripture, which by the way is KJ, then you would learn that you cannot come to the Lord's Table where such differences of doctrine exist that cannot be compatible with the Doctrine of God that men will know if they will but do the will of God and cease from their own will.

There is alot of talk about 'better' manuscripts and 'dead sea scrolls' etc. that have improvements upon the knowledge the KJ translators possessed; but we find as I heard a preacher say this past weekend that Jesus used the Septuagint of the OT of His day; He never made mention of these 'better' manuscripts, nor of the 'dead sea scrolls' of which I for one believe He would have certainly not have been in the dark concerning thier existence. If so, then certainly He would have said the Scriptures say such and such, but more ancient manuscripts or the yet to be discovered 'dead sea scrolls' shed light upon this and this in such a way that it will be easier for 'english' speaking peoples to understand the meaning of my words in the 20th century.

    (the above is paraphrased).

    Ain't it the truth? :D

Our decision becomes one to fully Trust Christ or to put our trust in a modern vernacular that often IMHO would be offensive to Christ.

    God Bless

Why should I hold communion with any of you brethren?... I can hold communion with another PB because we are alike in faith and practice... But another Baptist who is not of our cloth... No Way!... I'm really sorry if that offends some but that is the our rules of decorum and Articles of Faith.

I have been a PB for 35 years and after all that time I believe I know what we stand for and believe... And what we will not stand for or believe!... If you don't believe as we do that is OK with me... You are not a PB!... As the saying goes... It takes one to know one... I feel I know what Brother James Reed stands for as he is a PB just like me... Him and I can come to each others churches and feel right at home... We know each others doctrine and practice and the manner they may do things may differ but only in the manner not the content.

We also use the KJV in our churches... The brethren carry them to church and they are in our pulpits... You brethren are free to read what you will but you will only hear KJVO preached in a PB church... I hope I cleared up some misconception of PB's on here... BTW... To a PB's the KJV is the true word of God and all others are in error.
I don't know about Brother James Reed's Articles Of Faith but number two of ours in a nutshell is this... The scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the written word of God and are the only infallible rule of faith and practice. We consider the King James Version as orthodox and accept no other... Now you know what this PB believes!... Brother Glen [IMG]

Yea, I read it and though it is cludgy construction it remains accurate.
