Are "Christians using Satanic Symbols?

Because basically everything on earth has been used as a pagan symbol at one time or another, making it practically unavoidable.

I don't. Why do most wear a pagan symbol to say that they are married? The earliest use of wedding bands can be traced to ancient Egypt and all with all that mumble jumble they subscribed to it? Are you engaging in what they used to do by virtue that you wear the same symbol? If not, why do you think it is different?

As has been already pointed out, God is the creator of all and Satan has tried to steal and corrupt what God has made. I refuse to just let him succeed in his thievery. All days belong to God and so does everything else that He has created.

Some people make mountains out of mole hills. Every person wears symbols every day. The clothes I wear represent me. The house I live in represents me. How my lawn looks represents me. The way I comb my hair in some way represents me. The water that is bottled or not in some way represents me.

Some people are naive by buying Evian (naive spelled backwards) water. Some feel it is worth the money they spend. Some people wear kilts and some do not. Some wear cloaks and some do not.

It's all a symbols of what represents us as individuals.

Bro. James: " Why do some Christians use
pagan symbols in their worship?"

I use the Pagan symbol of the baptism,
but only for those who believe in Jesus.
I use the Pagan symbol of the prayerful eating
of bread and drinking of the fruit of the vine,
but only for those who believe in Jesus.
I use the Pagan symbol of the empty cross,
because Jesus died on one for my sins.

Why does every symbol you use in your worship
happen to have been used somewhere, sometime,
some circumstances by the ungodly?

Any symbol, pagan or otherwise, can only have the meaning you invest in it. There is no such thing as a purely "pagan" symbol or a purely "Christian" symbol.

The cross was used as a symbol of torture, execution, and shame for centuries before Christ. Now, we regard it as a symbol of the love of God for man.

The swastika was used as a symbol of eternity for centuries. Then Hitler decided to make it the symbol of his dream, and it is abhorred today as the emblem of naziism.

The yin-yang has been regarded as a sign of perpetuity for more than a thousand years. Eastern mystics have ascribed mystical powers to it, so now it is shunned.

Just because someone takes something and says it means something else does not mean that we have to goosestep to their tune. I have no love for legalism, and this entire premise reeks of it. If the symbols and objects of today at one time had superstitious and/or pagan meanings, SO WHAT? I am neither pagan nor superstitious. I choose not to bestow undue power and control to inanimate objects, thank you very much.

In Christ,
Trotter

Its not wrong to remeber Messiahs birth on anyday weather its dec. 25. july 10, sept 1 , ect. we should remeber Jesus everyday he saved us from our sins! Worshipping Jesus and giving thanks to Him is NOT wrong .

Now if you are doing what the pagans were doing on those days that is wrong. The pagans were not worshiping Jesus they were worshiping their false idols.

Why stop at the names of the days and months which are pagan?

The Scripture forbids images, not just as objects of worship but for private possession as well.

Pictures are detestable in God's sight also:

Numbers 33:52 Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places:

Take a dollar bill out of your wallet and look on the back, you will see the enGRAVEN IMAGE of the ALL-SEEING eye of ISIS above the Great Pyramid of Egypt along with several other symbols which have been used by satanists in their worship.

Think of that when you are at prayer meeting on Woden's Day evening with all these satanic symbols stuffed in your wallet while you are praying to the true and living God.

So what is the difference between the money in your wallet giving recognition and homage to the Egyptian goddess Isis and a gold ring on your finger?

Brethren, we are FREE FROM THE LAW and led of the Spirit!

Brother James if you are now convicted about the engraven images on your gentile money, send it all to me and I will take care of it for you.

What does Christ's mass mean to you now?
What does Sun Day (Day of the Sun) mean to you now.

Or the Woden's Day (Wednesday) evening prayer service?

Well, you might say, I don't pray to Woden at the Woden's day evening prayer service.

Well, neither do I celebrate mass on Christmas day.

Though I may agree with you to some degree, I must ask you not to post in this Forum, SealedEternal. It is for Baptists Only.
There are plenty of other areas where non-Baptists may post.

Why do Christians want to steal Christmas from the Catholics? They got it from the pagans and as far as I'm concerned they can keep it. Some people use the slogan, "Let's Put Christ Back Into Christmas." Jesus Christ was never a part of a "mass" That term is an abomination to the Lord. Christmass is a combination of two words, "Christ" and "Mass." Christ is the divine title of our Lord. "Mass" is from the Roman Catholic sacrament of the mass. Certainly born-again Christians shouldn't have anything to do with masses. The mass is a Roman Catholic invention, that is contrary to Biblical teaching.

You probably shouldn't use the days of the week either and especially the months of the year too.

So what will you call those new days and months? After all you don't want to mix religion with paganism do you?

"What is God telling us in Jeremiah 10: 2-4"
"
Not to worship idols, it's not about christmastrees.

"That nativity scene has the wise men there."
"
Ofcourse it does, there is an Italian nativity scene tradition (that country has several seperate nativity scene traditions), that does preclude the 3 kings, but normally all of them have them unless it's a tiny nativity scene.
What you expect these things to be realistic?
Don't answer that, you are in enough trouble as it is.

Monday=Moon day

Tuesday=Tiw, Norse god of war, daeg, Old English,day

Wednesday=Wotan's(Wodan's, Odin's) day

Thursday=Thor's day

Friday=Frigga's(wife of Odin) day

Saturday=Saturn's day

Sunday=self-explanatory

Most of the months' names have similar origins. (The last 5 months get their names from the old Roman 10-month calendar, made after the sun moved retrograde for Hezekiah. Apparently there was a great cosmic disturbance during the 770s-710s BC.)

As several people have said, a symbol is defined by its current meaning. For example the swastika was a symbol of good luck in several old cultures, and was occasionally placed with the signature of a letter written from Christian to Christian...but today the swastika represents pure evil to virtually the whole world.

The CROSS was once a pagan symbol.

And, SealedEternal...the AV 1611 has EASTER and CHRISTMAS in its list of HOLY DAYS.

Ed Edwards.. I don't know you.. but I'm definitely starting to like you already..

to James.....

If you really want to go there. I suggest to you that walls werer first used by pagans to support their roofs... you probably should consider that..

Symbols.. have no power in and of themselves...
why do you fear them?

Jeremiah 10: 2-4 is about craftsmen making idols from wood, and plating it(covering it all over, like the ark of the covenant was and many other things in the tabernacle and the temple)with silver and gold for the purpose of worship. How they must be carried around(who carries their christmas tree around? weird) becasue they can not move on their own as opposed to God who is real and alive and needs no help.

It is very important to carefully read scripture and take it in context. Anything else will produce twisted scripture that has the readers own personal opinion added in place of what God has said. Such as someone obviously said about Jer 10.

So Donna, if you already don't, are you going to start using the scriptural way of refering to the days of the week (1st day, 2nd day, ... 7th day, etc) as gb and robycop have suggested rather than use the names of idolatrous gods given to them by Pagans (Woden's Day, Thor's Day, etc)?

Exodus 23
13 And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.
