I tried to listen too but also turned it off.

I asked this on your introduction thread, but I'm curious as to your training that you felt prepared you for the ministry, Steven.

Well, Miriam was leading women to dance and play the tamorbines after that little crossing incident with Moses.

The fact that he says that not one male gynecologist is saved is a very judgmental on his behalf.

Luke was a physician. In all probability, Luke had to examine more than hands, feet, or faces on his patients. And I believe they were both male and female.

I don't this guy, so not going to make a judgement about him, but an observation.

The last person I knew who was this explosive (like in the sermon) about this subject was a pastor who was a molester steeped in adultery and incest.

Dear Sanderson1769,

After reading your drivel about hating homosexuals and wanting them dead, and seeing this tripe here, I am prepared to recommend a counselor to you in your area. You need help.

Feel free to PM me for the name of a qualified counselor that can help you with your issues and fixations.

Just thought I'd repost this in case you need to take me up on it.

question: Are female cardiologists acceptable for Christian men?

I mean, heck...I'm not supposed to "give my heart" to another woman except my wife, am I? I'll go home tonight and tell her she's going to start med school tomorrow.

so I'll drink a cup of tea and play Stars! while listening. I'll try not to spit tea on my monitor.

I heard that too! Man, I'd be thrown out of there in a New York minute.

But, you must understand, I have the spiritual gift of sarcasm, so it's OK...

I think my basic sentiments have already been expressed by many here, and quite eloquently I might add, but I just could not help but put in my two cents' worth on this thread, as one who almost died in childbirth and who only by the grace of God and my male doctor's skill am alive today and have two healthy children. By this pastor's logic, since he preaches against women working (see his doctrines/beliefs page)and against male gynecolgists, then the nurse/midwife or a female family member remains the only option. I am so upset at the moment that I could say a lot of things and bring up a lot of issues but I won't, including the cruel, insensitive, and unbiblical comments that have been directed at me by Christians (in real life, not on the BB, but I have read other disturbing threads here)) regarding my "small" family and medical problems. I won't hijack the thread, but thanks for letting me vent, folks!!
Suffice it to say I pray this man's wife never has a serious medical problem.

I say no. My explanation is found in this article I wrote: http://faithfulwordbaptist.org/gynecologists.html

What do you think?

Sincerely,

Pastor Steven L Anderson

Well, you've convinced me. I will never go to a male gynecologist.

Out of curiousity, I was a paramedic for many years.

Do you believe that I was wrong for treating female patients?

If your wife and daughter, Heaven forbid, were dying and my male partners and I showed up on scene, would you accept our help or demand that a female crew be dispatched.

I did have to laugh when I read in your essay that a medical professional viewing a female patient's body in a clinical sense is somehow a sexual turn on.

Having been in that situation thousands of times from 1985-2002, I've got to be honest and tell you that if you truly believe that's a sexual turn on, you are in serious need of psychological help.

I quoted this in error (tried to edit but time had elapsed)

"since he preaches against women working (see his doctrines/beliefs page)"

It is actually found in his "defending easy-believism" thread.
Wanted to set this straight.
Thanks, PamelaK

Urg. Mr. Anderson, stop practicing medicine without a license. I hope your congregation ignores your advice about antidepressants, it's stupid and irresponsible.

Yep. This is stupid.

I had to drop 'em in front of a female surgeon and her female nurse so she could examine a surgical incision site. Does it not go both ways?

What about in the OR? There will be several people on the surgical team of both sexes. If someone needs gynecological surgery is she supposed to insist on a female surgeon, second, surgical tech, nurses, anesthesiologist, etc? That would be not only ridiculous but impossible.

The depths of idiocy attainable by some is truly breathtaking.
