Are the majority of those on the BB hostile to the IFB's?

I'm not obsessed with homosexuals at all, and I wasn't the one who brought up Elton John. I was asked if Elton John was ok to listen to, and I answered that he's a proud, unrepentent cross-dressing homosexual and a terrible role model for men and boys, especially Christian ones. My being an IFB or not doesn't make that untrue. Even Elton John himself would probably agree with my asessment of him, although I'm sure he'd have issues with the "terrible role model" part.

Besides I didn't call him a Sodomite! Now that would've been gettin' nasty! :tongue3:

I just wanted to answer you're post and clarify my stance on that issue. I didn't want others to start accusing me of being a KJV-only nutball, without knowing where I stand. It's not a huge deal to me anyway, and I can talk rationally about it.

lol! This is why I have only 10 posts on this board. I interjected an innocuous comment and everyone starts jumping. It wasn't pointed at anyone in particular, since I only occasionally come on here to see what some of my friends who post are saying.

It confirms my overall (not individual) assessment of BB.... that the whole thing needs a cold shower!

The topic of racism is really a topic for another thread, but I don't want to start it. The point of my example was that the state of morality is not automatically better 50 years ago than it is now. I don't doubt for a second that homosexuality, abortion, immorality in general existed in the 50s.

I've thought for many years that church people wish they could go back to the ways of the 50s, as if it were just so much better then than it is now. Maybe it really was better, but I picked my example to highlight the fact that there were injustices in the 50s and, likely as not, immorality in the 50s as well. It frustrates me to see the church continually look back with fondness on days gone by as if they were the best days ever and not look forward to what God is going to do in the future.

Let me give you my experience. My Parents were saved when I was a sophmore in high school. They went to a IFB church. Suddenly, I went from normal to having my hemlines measured (3" above the knee when kneeling), Could only date boys in the church ( There were two), not allowed to go to dances or prom and if I made the cheerleading squad my father said I would have to wear my skirt his required length. Ok, now I am 50, saved, and understand most of it, but as soon as I got out of the house, I ran screaming from the church and spent 30 years trying to prove God didn't exsist. Thankfully He was patient. Who reeled me in? Pastor Rick Ferguson of the Riverside Baptist Church..SBC. He has passed on, but I KNOW God used that SBC to bring me to Him..why do you have to get so caught up in the politics? Christians shouldn't be attacking each other. My brother in law is a IFB preacher, but wouldn't come to see my husband baptized, something he had been praying for, because he would never go into a SB church, what do you think God thot of that?
