Are the unsaved still subject to the Old Testament laws

Question: are the ones walking here on earth with us, who aren’t saved, still subject to the laws in the OT? Being that Christ Jesus fulfilled the law and provided us with the new covenant, but do you have to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior to be liberated from the laws of old?

The Law, including the 10 Commandments, were the way the Hebrews could approach God.
God provided a way to approach his holiness in the Temple.
They communicate some of what God is like.

Through Jesus and his work on the cross, everyone has the opportunity to know and commune with God.
The purpose of the Law has been fulfilled.

There are some great social benefits in following the Law, although portions of it are quite arcane, fitted more towards a culture distant from our own.

The irreguarlar state church changed the ten commandments by droping the first commandment making the second commandment the first.

And then spiting the 10th commandment into the 9th and 10th.

Out of the protestant reformation the then 1st commandent which was really the 2nd commandment called the first was spite making it into a 1st and 2nd commandment. Then restoring the 10th into one commandment.

The 1st commandment, Exodus 20:1, "I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage."

God commands by His Name to Israel that He is to be their God.

The 2nd commandment, Exodus 20:2-6, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me. . . ." This includeds not the using images to worship God.
The 3rd commandment, Exodus 20:7. Not to misuse God's Name. It being rendered as "the LORD" in our translations.
The 4th commandment, Exodus 20:8-11. The 7th day Sabbath which was given to Israel as a people.
The 5th commandment, Exodus 20:12.
The 6th commandment, Exodus 20:13.
The 7th commandment, Exodus 20:14.
The 8th commandment, Exodus 20:15.
The 9th commandment, Exodus 20:16.
The 10th commandment, Exodus 20:17.

Nope, as the law was given unto Israel of the OT from God, and the new Covenant has abolished/rendered obsolete the old One, so every one been under New One since time of death and resurrection of Jesus!

This question in various forms gets batted around many times.

What was accomplished by the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ? Did Christ only provide the means of salvation for those whose faith God credits as righteousness, or did Christ "ransom" or "buy" all mankind, such that everyone is "under" the New Covenant in His blood?

No, we are not subject to the Law. Scripture is clear that the Law (to include the Ten Commandments) were given to a specific group of people at a specific time in history.

We are not under the Ten Commandments. Christ made this clear, IMHO, when He expounded on the superficial to the heart. Also, when asked of the greatest command Christ did not go to the Ten Commandments. They are prescriptive (they are the criteria for a righteous standing under a covenant made with Israel).

If you love God then you will obey His commandments. This is descriptive, not prescriptive. This was the problem with the Jews and, unfortunately, a problem with many Christians today. They read the passage as prescriptive of what people who love God must do rather than descriptive of one who loves God.

John in his first letter explains, "And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment." 1 John 3:23. The Lord Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28 etc.), which is why it is now called the Lord's Day.

How do we love our neighbours as ourselves? By honouring our parents, not, killing or hating them, not stealing from them, not bearing false witness against them and not coveting what belongs to them.
And how do we love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength? By placing nothing in priority before Him, by not making anything an idol, by not misusing His name, and by honouring Him especially in one day in seven Simple!

Christians are not under the law as something that condemns us, but the Moral Law, epitomized in the Decalogue, is our rule of life. We keep it, not in order to be saved, but because we are saved. 'Not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ' (1 Corinthians 9:21).

I understand that you believe that, but I do not believe it's true, and I do know exactly what I'm teaching. That Christians are to believe on Jesus Christ and love one another is absolutely true, but it is not the whole of Christian service (Romans 12:1).
'Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters' (1 Corinthians 7:19).

Well I understand Christ's commandments, John 14:15 to be grace. To believe in Him and love our fellow believers because we believe in Him, 1 John 3:23, 1 John 5:1. John 12:49-50. 1 John 5:9-13.
