Are there demons on earth today??

And as long as YOU give that power to satan, you empty the cross of it's power. Demons and the Holy Spirit do not, cannot co-exist in a Christian and to say so is injurious to the Holy Spirit.

JESUS defeated Satan on the cross! It is finished!

A Christian can be demon persecuted or even obsessed with/by demons...

Paul and Luke had this problem.

Acts 16
16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

Even handed over to Satan for destruction...
1 Corinthians 5:4-5.

But never a possession of the same being the possession and personal property (as it were) of the Holy Spirit...

Ephesians 1
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
