Are You a Baptist Onlyist?

You'd have to explain what a "Baptist Onlyist" is.
Do you mean something like what some people call a "Baptist Brider" or "Landmarkism"?
Theoretically, they are not inherently interlinked. Most Landmarkers tend towards KJVO from what I've seen, but, KJVO can include anyone although most are either Baptist or Apostolic Pentacostal from what I've seen.
They are both pretty rare although "Baptist Bride" is probably more rare.

I would consider Landmarkism "bapstst-onlyism". I think that their traditionalism lends itself towards a KJVO position, but I do not know it is necessary.

As a born-again child of God, having heard the gospel message in a Baptist church, I chose to identify as a Baptist. However, as a New Testament Christian, my being spiritually alive transcends any human organization. It directly connects to the Gospel as proclaimed by Jesus Christ.

I hope this post is applicable to this discussion.

Is there a connection between Baptist onlyism KJV onlyism?
Regarding the Bible:

No. We are not Ruckmanites, like when folks are referring to KJV onlyism.
All of Peter Ruckman's tenants are abhorred with indignation.

We know that God's Promise to Preserve His Word took place concerning the KJV.
There was a Biblical substantiation for utilizing that procedure in translation.

We realize that the idea that the Bible needed to be reconstructed because the original manuscripts preserved were corrupted and in error, as a whole, was misconceived and simply a lie. Then, this lie resulted in catastrophic editing of the Preserved text, by referencing and comparing only 1% of available manuscripts, which were some of the most worthless original language texts known to mankind. We opt out.
There was no Biblical mandate that would lead to a reconstruction translation philosophy.
...

Concerning our being a Biblical church;

Are You a Baptist Onlyist?

I am and my home church are a

Baptist,

local, visible, called-out assembly of scripturally baptized believers,
covenanted together according to the Biblical pattern of a “one member, one vote,” spirit-led democracy, whose purpose is the carrying out of the Great Commission of Matthew 28:16-20.*

= "Onlyist"

Congregation doing God's Business here in Central Kentucky.

The Bible teaches that only such a church as this is authorized and constructed to be able to do so.*

Let's see, the thread is based on presenting an undefined term. We know what baptists are, and they are not all in agreement on doctrine.

The term "onlyist" probably refers to someone who must have at least one one way or the highway, or they will sever the connection. For example, all people able to undergo water immersion baptism, need to have followed Christ's command or they will not be allowed as voting members of the fellowship.

I am sure there are nice people who are KJV onlyists, but I have no desire to fellowship with those harming the ministry of Christ.

So if you are a "Baptist Onlyist" then is it wrong to join a "Bible", Community, "Fellowship", etc, Church?

A simply yes or no is sufficent

Might we be so bold as to consider "Reformed Baptist Onlyists" who advocate for the TULIP way or the highway? Would it be wrong for me, a virulent anti-Calvinist, to join a "Reformed Baptist" fellowship because of my spirit of disunity? My answer is a simple "YES."

Is there such a thing? Is there a connection between Baptist onlyism KJV onlyism?

Dave

Yes, for sure there are those who will not accept anything other than the KJV, I personally know hundreds of them here in NC.

All of them that I know are IFB, not the TULIP brand of fundamentalism.

There are some like myself (IFB) that don't get bent out shape if someone is using another version.

I would say that the majority of the KJVO folks are IFB, that's been my experience here in NC.

Maybe that's not the case in other states.
