Are you obeying Mark 16:15?

How often are you out witnessing? How often do you pass out tracts on the streets, or if not do you give tracts to people in the drive in, leave them at restaurants (no money tracts there), hand them to cashiers, and customer service personal? How often do you share your faith and challenge someones atheistic/postmodernist/humanist or whatever worldview? Do you even challenge the worldview of your unbelieving family and friends, or do you just let them be? Do you write letters? Today I wrote a letter to a old high school friend and included two gospel tracts one from Living Waters, and one from Good News Tracts useful for PostModern skeptics. I at first had thought my friend to be Catholic but after a conversation my friend is no doubt a PostModernist. I challenged my friends worldview in the letter and defended a case for Christianity in two pages.

Do you pray to the Holy Spirit for conversations? Last week while out witnessing I prayed to the Holy Spirit before witnessing and then on the street had a half hour conversation with a doubting agnostic. I challenged his faith, and we spoke, at the end he agreed to read a booklet by Ray Comfort defending the Bible.

I do witness to people, but I do not track how often (I am sure it is not often enough). I do not pass out tracts. I have shared my faith with atheists, but I have not ran into many for some time now. My family are Christian (I am only close to my immediate family). I do write letters (not in terms of evangelizing, but I'm not illiterate). I think that if we concentrate too much on postmodern culture we may fail to realize that we live in a post postmodern society (what some have termed pseudo-modernism). It seems to me less individualistic in terms of truth but perhaps more problematic in terms of reality. But I have noticed that much of our assessment of our own culture is at least a decade behind reality (which is a bit odd, in a way, but understandable in another).

It isn't a matter of "how often" it is a matter of daily talking, walking, being a witness.

The Scriptures don't give a specific time, or even place, but says, "You SHALL BE witnesses..."

If one looks upon their going out specifically to witness as if that is a command, I would suggest that one consider that AS WE GO we are to witness.

There is no secular time and sacred time, all times belong to the Lord.

NO matter when, where, or the in-opportunity, we are believers, therefore, we are witnesses.

Good point and half the truth. The other half is going out to witness.

I don't think it's a matter of how often nor that you have to witness to someone. Witness or not, everyone is blessed.

If I may answer, I believe the Gospel of John to be a first century tract, based on John 20:31--"But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." So I believe tracts are a completely Biblical way to give the Gospel. That's the key command in Mark 16:15, proclaiming the Gospel by whatever means.

Caveat: it is wrong to simply give a tract when the Holy Spirit is leading to witness verbally. However for waitresses and others who would get in trouble by a conversation which neglects their duties, tracts are a valid way to proclaim the Gospel.

And no, you do not have to chase a rabbit! ;)

Well I try and spread the Good News whenever and wherever I get he urge or if I am prompted by the holy spirit. I have been ridiculed for my faith and beliefs when witnessing but that has never deterred me from sharing the truth. I think it is all about how you can relate to someone and what they are going through and reassuring them that everything is going to be alright. We are all God's children and he will take care of his children. I don't force feed the information but I do offer a word every now and then.

thank you for this response, it is needed for those who feel the constant need to bash on tracts.
