Are You Satisfied With President Trump?

It dawned on me as I was typing this post that a whole year has passed since the 2024 presidential election. Boy, how the time flies!

Anyway, I was interested to know if the members of this board approve or disapprove of the job Mr. Trump is doing.

Do you believe that we have entered into the promised Golden Age in American history? Has his team accomplished everything that you were expecting, or is there more that you’d like to see done?

Hopefully I am wrong, but I think if there was/is such a thing, it occurred decades ago.

President Trump's methods appear to not be well thought-out. He uses a butcher knife where a surgeon's scapple would be appropriate.

Given the same choices in the last election, I would vote for him again.

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied. Sometimes, downright impressed.
I can't agree with Wesley B. that he is "using a butcher knife when a scalpel was needed." I think there are few, very few, facets of American politics that don't need to be absolutely gutted to core. I think Trump was willing to use the surgeon's scalpel in his first term. They tried to kill him for trying to do it again.
He seems to have finally figured out that the radical left is an existential threat whose interests must simply be eradicated, not negotiated with. Perhaps the numerous assassination attempts and assassinations (like Charlie Kirk's) were the wake-up call he needed.

Republicans have been playing by Marquis of Queensbury Rules for decades while Democrats have been poisoning soup and convincing Guy Fawkes to plant explosives under the houses of Parliament.
Trump has finally figured this out.
Unlike in his first term, he seems to actually be trying to do what he promised. His methods are imperfect, but, he is also being fought every inch of the way.
Trump has always been classless, brutish, a little churlish, petty and uncouth. I would prefer to have a president who is not. But, at this juncture, we don't need a guy with class. We need a guy....more like Trump....who can be just as petty as the Democrats can. Trump is willing to get dirt under his fingernails if he has to.
Unlike the radical left he doesn't actively hate America and Americans. He is genuinely trying to put America first, and it is refreshing to see.

Will it be the beginning of a golden age? I fear it is all too little too late.

I understand that completely.
He is.......brash. to say the very least.
He is no gentleman.
What I would say, is that Trump doesn't act from his considered plans and opinions.
Politicians usually do that.
Trump acts from his gut, almost exclusively.

Honestly, given the same two candidates I would have to vote for Trump. Having said that I am quite dissatisfied. I want a social and fiscal conservative and Trump is none of that. I am totally opposed to tariffs. I do not like the military in our cities. And we are no closer to peace in the Ukraine than we were with Biden. The whole East Wing ball room scenario seems to be a Nero fiddled while Rome burned thing. Finally, his words about forgiveness at Charlie Kirk's funeral were that last thing Charlie would have wanted. I want a president who is BETTER than the progressive narcissists that simply want whatever the government will hand to them. Trump is not that.

And the Epstein debacle is downright criminal.

The strange thing is that I don't think Trump personally has much of anything to worry about. So, I don't know why he makes himself look worse by reacting the way he does. Me-thinks he doth protest too much. There's a REASON people (actual decent moral people, not other politicians and democrats) want to know more, and the reason is simple:

1.) There is a woman in prison who apparently trafficked minors for prurient purposes. We know who she is, and we have convicted her.
2.) There was a man who died in prison because he was trafficking minors for prurient purposes.
3.) We have numerous accounts of victims who were trafficked

So, we have the women (victims), the traffickers (criminals).............
And we don't have any of the Johns.
WHO, were the sick people (by definition also criminals) who these victims were being abused by and for?

It's not a "gotcha'" game for decent Americans. I know it is for Democrats in politics (and Republicans too) and Trump is ONLY concerned about that. Decent people don't care about the gotcha' politics of it and just want justice against perverts. The problem is that that completely escapes him.

It suggests that he is becoming the Swamp he claims to abhor, because on this issue, he thinks exactly as they do.

He's dealing with ruthless people not only around the world but right here in our backyard. I think the butcher knife is what's needed in most cases. He's got the fortitude to use the butcher knife where it's needed, the language they understand that gets results.

Blessings from another sdcoyote (class of '70) The worm has turned. Key political analysts who bent over backwards to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope for his success, now express consternation and call out his narcissism and seat-of-the-pants flying in a state of vertigo. E.g. Prof Jeffrey Sachs whom Trump once retweeted, John Mearsheimer, Judge Napalitano, Col MacGregor who served in first Trump administration...
I doubt that many who voted for the Peace President and his dream team will turn out in force for the midterms. If Demonrats take control of Congress, that will be the end of his effectiveness. The NeoCons are all around him.

Trump has not even been in office 1 year yet. It's going to take more time than that to clean up the mess that the Biden administration left behind! Under his first term as President, my 401K doubled and inflation was very low. I thought things were great then, until covid came along during his last year in office. :( Coincidence? I'm convinced it was no accident! The swamp is too deep to ever have a true golden age in America again and Trump is constantly up against corrupt judges who throw obstacles in his way from getting things done. Between Trump and the democrat/socialist party who hate America, I choose Trump every time!

I agree with most of his platforms but he does not accomplish those goals in a smart way.

I would not say I am dissatisfied with Trump. But I am not completely satisfied either.

He goes into silliness.

Making a second name for the Department of Defence? Kinda weird. It never was the Department of war
Why cause the drama? If just for distraction, maybe.

I enjoy watching politics (like dome watch sports). I can't say team Trump is the best team we have had. But it is the best team at this time.

President Trump is opposed by those that would receive the Antichrist Kingdom. President Trump cannot overcome that which is prophesied to come. The "Falling Away" is irreversible.

Trump has been outstanding. He will go down as the greatest president since Washington.

I dislike his handling of the Epstein mess. Who is being protected and why?

What is this business about sending tens-of-billions to Argentina? I dislike the sound of that.

Stuff like the "Gulf of America" is pointless and counterproductive.

Trump has his warts but his heart is in the right place and he's doing great things for poor and middle-class Americans.

We must remember that Trump himself is not totally autonomous, he reports to and is managed by individuals of far superior power. Presidents are figureheads, puppets of the invisible masters. Mysteriously, Trump is being allowed to do many seemingly good things, but opposition from courts is limiting the positive results intended. One world without borders is speeding toward us, Christianity is being wiped off the face of the earth, and AI and robots are eliminating human workers.

Ultimately, God is in control. Good presidential acts are blessings from heaven, but sometimes Providence curses us or allows negative things to occur as punishment to wake us up and to draw us back to Himself.

As a Christian, I don’t like “Department of War” (blessed be the peacemakers). The world is in such a mess, no matter how much good Trump does, the enemy of humanity keeps rushing in from all sides like a diabolical flood. Yet I pray daily “may righteousness prevail, destroy the plans of the wicked, transform evil people into worshipers of the one true God”.

With so many churches preaching positive thinking seminars, instead of the actual gospel, and denominations embracing sodom and woke agendas, our nation is doomed. My focus tends to be spiritual, not political. I wish Trump had good evangelical religious advisors that could teach him how to go to heaven.
