Here's one that's overdue.

A chicken arrives in heaven and looks for her baby chick. God says, "Sorry! She couldn't cross the road of her own free will, and I just didn't feel like saving her that day. So I'm going to sit here, wring my Calvinist hands and delight in the fact that you'll have to watch her suffer for eternity, ok?"

The chicken that didn't cross - was it one of the elect that didn't need to do anything? :D Sorry - couldn't resist.

So the chicken chose to sit on the parkbench instead of crossing, I get it! [IMG]

</font>
This is great. Perhaps the chicken was standing so long in contemplating the crossing of the road thing that her legs grew tired and the park bench, being provided by the common grace of KFC was a blessing, all of which the chicken failed to realize because of her expectation of her savior to cross the road for her and at which time she would escape the horrible fate of the next seven years at which the false KFC would subject all true believing chickens to persecutions and tribulations, yet while the chicken was patiently waiting her rescue by the coming in the air of KFC (crossing the road for her, so that doing this she had no move whatever to make), alas, she failed to consider that she had the power to engage in short term flight, also a blessing of providence since this would ease the strain on her legs and permit her under her own strength and will to meet KFC midway and in flight. (All this because deep inside she feared persecution if she did leave her bench, or worse yet, she would lose her place on that bench and have to go to the end of the long line of chickens waiting to cross the road and thus, though she possessed a thirst to cross the road find when she came to it there was no power in heaven or earth able to effect her crossing.)

If we think this is all impossible, consider that chickens are people too.

(Maybe all this chicken needs is a 30-min session with the Pet-Psychic.)

Ah, but that's not the point! Nobody said God gives every chicken an equal chance to want to cross the road. The fact that they are all given a chance in their lifetime whether or not to decide to cross the road, and that makes God fair and equal. The chicken who sees something good to eat on the other side and the chicken who sees a bucket of KFC on the other side both had the same opportunity to decide, so it's fair. </font>
[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

It may be fair that they both got a chance to choose, but it is not fair that one had one enticement and the other a different enticement. The enticement must be the same for both for the choice to truly be fair

Yelsew, Where is it written God has to be fair with chickens?

Some chicken have a plush life on my mom's farm, and others find their way into preasure cookers. That doesn't seem fair. Still others before reaching chickendom find their way next to a peice of bacon on my breakfast plate.

(come to think of it, this analogy would work well with people too) :D

Hmmmm, Does that equate to abortion?

...Oh my, I think I just opened myself up to lawsuit from the egg industry for even suggesting that eating eggs may be equated to abortion.

I was addressing the fairness of chicken choices, not whether or not God is fair!

Yes, but according to at least one person here, the chances are "equal" despite the fact that one was radically more appealing than the other, and therefore Arminianism is true. That's the kind of logic you should understand, Yelsew.

Equal, as in both have the choice to truly say "yes" or "no." You're beginning to get it, although, the "therefore Arminianism is true" was no part of my argument.

The kind of logic I should understand? I think you misunderstand.

The fact that all have the ability to choose is what is fair!
The fact that each and all have the same choice is fair!
That choice is a life or death choice, and God wants us to choose life!
He does not give one the option of life and nourishment while limiting the other to sure death, thus forcing the "elect" into life and all others into death.

Satan, the purveyor of death offers us great pleasures to allure us from what Jesus the worthy Lamb of God is offering us, which is life eternal with Him. The choice is ours to make, and by virtue of the fact that we have an innate sin nature, that which Satan offers us is quite attractive and most are seduced by it. Jesus offered us Himself, and the promise of eternal life with him. Not nearly as seductive as what satan offers.

However, God who is the Holy Spirit warns us along our way to destruction, convicting us of our sins, and calling us to turn around and get on the pathway to Jesus. But it remains our choice exclusively to which call we will be obedient and what our own action will be. God made us to be free agents with free will, because He wanted us to choose him of our own free will. And yes we know who God is and we can't help but hear His voice, that is until we turn off our radios by continuing in our sin!
