Hello webdog.
maybe because "the god of this world" has blinded you. It's pretty simple reading.
That maybe so but you do little to enlighten me.
Robertson's Word Pictures...
Peoples New Testament...
Adam Clarke...
John Gill...
Who are these people that the Devil has blinded me to?
So what you are really saying is:
It is not by grace one is saved?
Strange that as Paul says otherwise, Eph 2:8 It is by grace...
Is that all you can muster?

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.
When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

RO 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also
predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
Praise the Lord. Deal with predestined.
