Here's a drawing I did back in 2013, and the second is when I revisited the same theme in 2019 through a drawing app on my phone

The theme at the time was how I felt like a lone wolf (hence the howling wolf visage), cut off from my pack (family) theologically as I was no longer believing the same things they did nor attending the same church (and they didn't like that). With the collar and tag representing me as belonging to God and journeying through the wilderness alone, but with His guidance.

I don't know. This isn't my best work for sure, but it's still important to me. Just what it represents.

It's great to find another Christian here that enjoys artwork. I find it relaxing to work on my drawings. I'll share some soon. :)

Thank you for sharing your art! I am a huge fan of folk art, and art that says something from the heart. Humans were designed to create: all of us; not just professionals.

I wish I could do that well!

I have done some recent stuff with acrylic paints. They're not super good, but I enjoy working with paint

Our styles are just different. I tend to details because of my accounting background. As I said earlier though I didn't believe that I could do very well at all, but a good teacher helped me to see more clearly. I'm sure that when you look at the world around you it is with an artistic eye, seeing the graduations of greys and white in the clouds, seeing the highlights and shades that define what we see. It is fun to play with it, though for me the details sometimes get in the way .

Yes, you can do as well, and your work is super good. God sees your work differently than a capitalistic economy. God wants to see YOUR work that is a reflection of his creation.

It has taken me time to see myself more as the Father sees me than as the other children see me. God is patient: he knows how long and severe the brainwashing was that taught us to see ourselves (his creation) and our work as inferior to the other people he created.

Many of us can do some things but not others that are recognized as valuable to the secular world. This is also good.

Imagine two human children that draw the tea pot that the father made from clay. The father is pleased with both children that thought his creation was worthy of taking the time to draw. He does not enjoy the drawing that shows the most skill, but enjoys both paintings equally, or maybe the one with most heart. One child may be able to sell his drawing and the father will share the joy of that experience with the child, but he doesn't mean he prefer that drawing.

I cross posted with you and Charles. Exactly what Charles said. Don't stop drawing. Drawing hones your ability to see, and your drawings are evidence of what you saw. Only you see and draw like you do.

I use to be an artist too but unfortunately I don't have any pieces to display... My art was mostly for the military and they don't let you take plans home... I was a mechanical artist... Hey even God gave Moses and Noah a pattern... And nothing is build without a plan... I also have a degree in Technical and Scientific Illustration and have done many drawings using AutoCad... Computer Aided Drafting... I enjoyed all the art and I'm sure that there are other talented members here and just maybe some will come by and display their art... I also dabble in poetry and started a thread for those who want to join in and display their poetry... So harness the bard within you and join in, if you want to and here is the link...
