Asymptomatic spread of coronavirus is 'very rare,' WHO says

Thankfully the lockdown is completely over. Everyone can go back to their everyday lives.

Who are we to argue with 1200 "health experts" that said mass demonstrations should continue? They were more important than social distancing to prevent the virus. Surely the economy is more important , too.

That just confirms that it's all been phony. The only thing real about it is the virus. Everything else was overblown and panic driven.
YES, PHONY, and never again hopefully will our politicians do this. They also fueled the riots with the lockdown, so many unemployed with nothing to do.

Where do you get this stuff from? You would have us believe that unemployed people are naturally predisposed to rioting, looting, and arson. These people have been out of a job for eight to ten weeks, so naturally they will become criminals. I mean, really, where does this thinking come from?

I thought the rioters/looters/arsonists were George Soros funded Antifa terrorists! Who knew they were just disgruntled unemployed folks that turned to crime out of boredom.

So when the <Insert Organization's Name> says something you agree with politically, it is good news. When <Insert Organization's Name> say something you don't agree to, is a socialistic organization that should be defunded

There is little to no Constitutional warrant for the federal government to fund any organization regardless of its viewpoint as there are a limited number of federal government functions per the U.S. Constitution.

Let me rephrase:

So when the <Insert Organization's Name> says something you agree with politically, it is good news. When <Insert Organization's Name> say something you don't agree to, it should be scorned.

So IF a symptomatic person is very unlikely to be a spreader of a virus, wouldn’t you consider that good news?

I would indeed. But for weeks now people have been disparaging WHO and cheering Trump when he cut funding. Now, when they say something we like, all of a sudden they are credible and respected.

Please do not confuse me with the supporters of Republicans or Democrats.

Here is the Q&A session being talked about

WHO: 40% of infections from asymptomatic people

The World Health Organization says studies suggest that about 40 percent of coronavirus infections are caused by people who carry the virus but show no symptoms.

This 40% figure referenced is a number that was from a model, not from actual data. She explains this at 4:00 of the video and it is a figure she does not want to emphasize because it is not actual data. For the article to say that this figure is the WHO's official position is the opposite of what she said in the video.

The quote for this article starts at the 3:00 mark of the video. Her clarification of "very rare" was to explain that it was in reference to the studies she was reporting on (ie in Singapore for that time period) and not necessarily generalizable to the entire world where the figure for presymptomatic spread is still an unknown.

Some terms to keep in mind:

asymptomatic: no symptoms. An asymptomatic case never goes on to develop symptoms

presymptomatic: period before symptoms develop. A presymptomatic case is one that eventually develops symptoms after a period of being asymptomatic.

minimally/mildly symptomatic: very mild symptoms, sometimes incorrectly self identified as asymptomatic but on further investigation was actually mildly symptomatic.

asymptomatic spread: person B catches the virus from person A who is asymptomatic. If person A goes on to become symptomatic and then this was a case of presymptomatic spread.

symptomatic spread: person B catches the virus from person A who is symptomatic.

Just like Fauci., Can't seem to make up their minds, and I think I know why.

They're all lying. Using their so called "expertise" as a socio-political weapon.
