Likely a good idea not to shop in the inner city. Drive to suburbia to buy stuff. I never hear of shootings at the stores where we go. I have read reports of shootings at the government housing row apartments in our area. There are some shops near that, and I would never walk into one of them, too risky. See the cops frisking people in the parking lot there.

The USA provides its citizens the provision to protect yourself... I have seen innocent unarmed people who have been robbed, shot and killed without provocation. Even the use of pepper spray is something to be considered. Even if you take courses in hand to hand.. a kick in the groin, a punch in the wind pipe and solerplexis might one day save your life.

yes, you can not count on police to be near to stop violent crimes, plus the response time when calling 911 could be a long time for them to come.

And the criminal could claim you attacked them first, so the assault charge would be against you. You need friendly witnesses if you can find any.

The Police are God's primary minister for protection. I believe Jesus also spoke of self protection to his disciples, telling them to buy a weapon (a sword). But we are in real trouble if we allow police to be abolished. I don't believe our society will let that happen.

I didn’t bother to post earlier, because I tried to listen to this lady but gave up. At every point she just sounds whiny rather than talking straight and taking charge like a true leader. “I’m frustrated.” “We all have to do better.”

She says she can hire and fire employees, but perhaps it would be better if she resigned and let someone in there who will do the job right. She’s letting thugs run her city, and then whining when they kill someone. Ridiculous.

Oh, and she’s in the running for Biden’s VP, so you can be sure she’ll be politicking like a Dem.
