[qb]You did miss it. It's located in The Bible where God mocked the Midianites when He defeated them after sending a nightmare to them that they were being attacked by a loaf of bread (Judges 7:13-14). Also, Elijah, just prior to executing 450 prophets of Baal, "mocked them" by telling them to yell louder to their god so that Baal could hear their prayers since he was either on a trip, sleeping or in the restroom(Hebrew, "private place," 1 Kings 18:27; and 2 Kings 6:8-20).I must have missed that part of the Bible.
It's probably in the same book where we find, "And thus shalt thou call them amongst their dwelling places and inquire of them, 'hast thou Prince Albert in a can?'"
I have a fair guess how you'll respond - you'll likely say that it's not loving not to rebuke sinners. Therefore you are showing them love. Unlike all those 'compromisers' who won't say what makes them unpopular.1 Cor 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
The problem here is that you ain't talking to the world. You are talking with Christians.Originally posted by Jefferson:
To all:
Jesus promised his followers, "you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended" (Mat. 24:9-10).
Jesus also taught:
John 15:18 If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
John 15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
John 17:14 I have given them Your Word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Mat. 10:22 And you will be hated of all men for My name's sake, but the one who endures to the end shall be kept safe.
Luke 21:17 And you shall be hated by all for My name's sake.
Today Christians think if the world hates them, they have failed. But the opposite is true.
Ask yourselves: Does anyone hate you? Anyone at all? If not, why not? Are you compromising at the point where it will make you unpopular?
But we are supposed to love without hypocrisy by hating evil according to Romans 12:9: "Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil."I Corinthians 13: "love . . . love . . . love"
Wrong. This discussion is about my supposed "unloving" nose to nose screaming matches with proud, arrogant, unrpentant murderers."Originally posted by Mr. Curtis:

Such as the fleshly desire to be "liked" by everyone?Ya know, we are to follow ALL the teachings, not just the ones that we've taken out of context and twisted to meet the desires of our flesh
You call murder a mere "fault?"Galatians 6:1 fully says: Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault . . .
Acts 15:39 shows that meekness is not commanded for every single possible situation we will ever encounter.. . . ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness

Romans 12:9 says: "Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil." Do you abhor what is evil?

Do you express it?
This is exactly what I meant about taking a word out of context and twisting its meaning."salom" as victory over one's enemies or absence of war."
