Very well said Dragoon68.Dragoon68 said:This is a frequently quoted extract of scripture used by some to justify socialism and even communism. The Bible does not, when taken as a whole as it should be, support such governmental systems. In fact, a better case could be made for its support of dictators and monarchs but that also would be incorrect. The fact that this group of Christians willingly came together and shared their possessions amongst themselves does not imply that the Bible thereby endorses the establishment of governments that own all property and distribute it according to how they see fit. It is one thing for a Church through its members and appointed deacons to decide how to share wealth among its members or even outsiders. It is another thing to have a group of politicians confiscate property and earnings so they can give it to someone else over which one has no supervision or even knowledge. Socialism and communism both stink badly throughout history yet people still seem to fall for its putrid smells and especially so in difficult economic times.
"What we learn from the study of the Great [French] Revolution is that it was the source of all the present communist, anarchist and socialist conceptions."
