    King James,

This is an internet site where Christians gather.

    Where Christians gather, God is.

Where God is with God's people - is a church.

Besides - Christians should not only be Christians in the church house.

TS...I would disagree. We all are "the Church" but this internet site is not "a" church. There's a difference there and I hope I am communicating that clearly.

An issue that comes up between people on a public forum does not have to follow those guidelines because it already is out there for everyone to see and for everyone to be involved in.

    AV,

Look at your attitude coming out on a Christian board.

Christian to Christian - step back and look at your attitude.
Look at the tone of your posts to Patrick.
Look at the tone of your posts to me.

I had to do that with a post from BillyMac. He said something in jest, I snapped at him, he called me on it. I apologized.

He was right to call me on it.
I was wrong to snap at him.

"A soft answer turneth away wrath."

A simple, "I am sorry I upset you. That isn't how I meant that," is much more affective than, "Patrick is a trouble maker," and "Keep your 2 cents to yourself."

The bone I'm picking on isn't you.

The bone I'm picking on is the name-calling.

Again - this is supposed to be a gathering of Baptists, and I believe most of the Baptists require that you profess Christ before you join a Baptist church - ergo - this is a gathering of Christians.

If you would not do it or say it in church, in front of the whole congregation - you shouldn't do it or say it here in front of the whole world.

Wow!! Given what was said in "opinions please" I find that comment remarkable!

    I like it! [IMG]

I practice the same, thankful. But only after I jumped the gun a few times. ;)

Patrick, about "attitudes on this board" (the given topic), we are all faced with the same dilemma and it's best if we blow it off. Even if it goes so far that apologies are had, we can't erase the harsh words that's been said.

In general, I avoid the overly-opinionated. No finger pointing here ... just in general. This as I strive not to be overly-opinionated myself. [IMG]

    King James,

I hear you, and I think we have to agree to disagree on this one.

See, I think, that the minute this place identified itself as a forum for Christians - it was required to live up to the standards of a Church.

I don't see how it falls short of the definition of a church.

    There are believers here.
    Some are long term Christians.
    Some are new Christians.
The guide book used is the bible.
The standards set, are, we hope, set by God.
We have identified ourselves as a group of people representing Christ, Christianity, and Baptists.
    We pray for one another.
    We rebuke one another.
    We teach one another.
    We share joys.
    We share tragedy.
    We play games.

All we do not do, is reach out and physically touch.

Now, I want to know who the elders are, I have a few things to talk over with the deacons. ;)

Again, TS, you're sticking your nose in something that is no concern of yours. But, I find this typical of you. As stated earlier, you don't have all the facts, so you might want to "study to be quiet and do your own business".

TS that is one reason it is not a church. [IMG] Agreed to disagree, definitely.

If this were church, then we women would might have to keep our computers silent and not try to instruct men. :D

So, there is someone here who has authority from the BB to baptize people into the BB?

Do we all get an equal vote on how things are run on the BB?

Is it okay for me to come here on Sunday morning rather than going to a "physical" church?

TS, I think you are throwing around the word "church" rather loosely.

He said where 2 or 3 are gathered together, there will He be, but He didn't say it would be a church.

If you want to go with that, then every born again child of God is his own church because the Spirit of God is always with him.

To the topic of this thread, it seems to me that there are too many here who get their feelings hurt over nothing.

It reminds me of the joke forum when we had to stop telling blonde jokes because some were offended. Get a sense of humor, folks. It's not good to be serious all of the time.

    Okay,

    I concede the church point.

However, I still say, we should behave toward fellow Christians as if it is one.

I have been gone most of the day and will be gone till next week. AVL1984 I don't say nothing in private that I would not want to be said publicly. That is called character. You have called me a novice, imature, milque toast, babe.

I have not lashed out in anger and resorted to name calling. I just wanted some insight. If I offended you for anything then I pray you would forgive me.

I will not stoop to the level of name calling. I will not even jokingly take a swipe at someone's faith. Your relationship with the Lord is between you and Him. I respect you, we are brothers!!!

    In His Service,

    Patrick

Think we've tried to destroy enough people on this thread? I hadn't wasted time reading it before, but this is ridiculous.

And if someone is offended, deal with it biblically - come to me (bob@grif.net) and don't post assassination, veiled hate, and assorted trash on the BB.

    Thank you.
