Usually when I think of Australia , I never think of terrorism. But this just in per FOX News, 15 terrorists planning a major attack in the land of hoppers and roo's were arrested. Plot was to kidnap, behead and show beheading's on cyber space. Scary stuff.

For those Americans that have an NIMBY attitude, it isn't if it happens here, it is when. Per another OP, on this forum, Terrorists have been busted coming across the border. And that's just what we caught.

How many have stayed under radar, and are ready to go?

What say you? Is it time to fix the border problem for the sake of preventing a major terrorist event?

Faux Snews headline . . . Australia raids foil reported ISIS beheading plots

"If the ... police had not acted today, there is a likelihood that this would have happened," Brandis told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Sydney Morning Herald headline . . . Terror raids: 800 police, and only two men charged

The morning for Mr Azari began with a shock – a shock shared by millions of Australians as 800 police mounted what has been billed as Australia's largest counterterrorism operation.

It will await later assessments as to whether the results will amount to more than one man in a court dock charged with plotting unfathomable violence, and a second man facing weapons charges.

Not quite the earth shaking "terror bust" Faux Snews made it out to be evidently.

If Faux was interested in reporting real news their headline would read Australian police state emerges under the "war on terror".

My Aussie friend, said this was close to where she lives, and that the word on the street is, had the cops not acted when they did, beheadings may have started by the end of this week!

Scary to think these guys are in our countries! She said her friends, and neighbors are now looking around with more interest and practicing caution where ever they go!

The word on the street? Is that code for media propaganda?

Actually, they commited boots if needed and air power! Which may be why this group came out of hiding!

Two people are a group now?

Excuse me if I look at this "news" with skepticism. It usually turns out that govt informants are the ring leaders behind these alleged "terror plots".

THE United States has been narrowly saved from lethal terrorist plots in recent years — or so it has seemed. A would-be suicide bomber was intercepted on his way to the Capitol; a scheme to bomb synagogues and shoot Stinger missiles at military aircraft was developed by men in Newburgh, N.Y.; and a fanciful idea to fly explosive-laden model planes into the Pentagon and the Capitol was hatched in Massachusetts.

But all these dramas were facilitated by the F.B.I., whose undercover agents and informers posed as terrorists offering a dummy missile, fake C-4 explosives, a disarmed suicide vest and rudimentary training. Suspects naïvely played their parts until they were arrested.

If the Australian govt is anything like the US govt it likes to keep it's people living in fear for political and financial reasons rather than security reasons, and of course to justify the "need" for an ever growing militarized police state.

The still open borders should tell you just how serious our own govt takes the "terrorist" threat.

I tend to agree with you Poncho, a government beat up to avoid the real issues, to keep the vox populi in a false ferment of fear.

I believe there were 15 arrested, with their leader still at large. This per the reports on the bust. Where did you get the number two?
