“Australia in March imposed strict social distancing restrictions, which coupled with the closure of its borders, are credited with drastically slowing the number of new infections of COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus.

With fewer than 20 new infections each day, Morrison said Australian states and territories on Friday agreed a road map to remove most of the curbs.”

Australia is an island.

More than likely all they had to do was close the borders. Everything else was probably a waste.

Lets see, Australia has a population of 25 million with about 20 new infections a day
NY City has a population of about 10 million with about 1,000 new infections a day

My estimation is NYC with all its cases is going to be in pretty good shape if the natural acquired immunity holds and this virus does not mutate much. Whereas places which locked down and had few cases are in much worse shape as the areas with few infections the people were not allowed to gain any immunity and they have no economy left to sustain themselves, so then a sword is hanging over them ready to strike as opportunities occur. But we still dont know the future, so it is just what might happen. Maybe an effective vaccine comes along, maybe no good vaccines come along but the government lies and tells us they have a great vaccine.

Any places where they had lots of cases since 95% and more survive ok, will have developed an immunity, the virus has nowhere left to spread.

Just common sense that tells you the truth that lockdowns against a potently infectious RESPIRATORY virus is not going to work as NYC is now finding out, it is frankly a wasted effort.
66% of hospitalizations occurred with people who stayed in their homes and did not go outside in NYC.

Cuomo surprised most NY coronavirus hospitalizations are people who stayed at home

NE Pennsylvania is still on lockdown.
Although to look outside it’s hard to tell.
I went over to my dad in order to deliver medications that he was running short of.
Roads were busy, The garden shop I passed was bustling.
Local statistics show the number of cases climbed significantly last week. Number of deaths in the county from Covid19 is about 400. The rate of deaths / week rose as well.

At least where I live the game is not over.
