SOURCE Australian political and environmental leaders have been lavish in their praise for former US vice-president Al Gore and the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for winning the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.
The leaders said Mr Gore's global leadership in raising awareness of climate change had been a significant effort to help preserve worldwide peace and economic challenges.
The Nobel Peace Prize committee recognised their efforts to spread knowledge about man-made climate change and working out ways to fight it.
Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd personally congratulated Mr Gore soon after the prize was announced......
