No abortion inquiry, says Howard

PRIME Minister John Howard has told MPs he does not want an inquiry into abortion or a divisive Parliamentary debate derailing his election-winning agenda.

Mr Howard sent a clear message to his own MPs yesterday to quieten down on the issue which is dominating political debate and dividing his own party.

He may not, there was quite the votes this time around for the Family First party, although he did get a number of preferences from that area. Family First being the fledling Christian Party similar to the Constitution Party in the U.S
