Authoritarian rule in the USA

No need to view the media presentation because, unfortunately, the Nazi reference nullifies anything that may be said.

JP does a fantastic job of illustrating the pitfalls with absurdity ...

especially those of us on this board ... ask yourself (if you're older than 20) if there was any honest expectation we'd be socially where we are today?

If you're older than 60 ... our Fed government? (of course, all one has to do is read the accounts of our Founders to know we are a FAR cry from our Founding as a nation)

There, but for the grace of God, go I. And THAT includes my nation. There's NOTHING to keep us from the effect of communistic dictatorship. People are people ... and we tend to beg for a king anyway.

We're wired that way and it's not bad --- if the king is ... THE King of kings. Unfortunately our pride puts us in a default position to seek a man king, rejecting the Son of Man.

Folks would do well to avoid being so ready to dismiss admonitions as such just because of a parallel with the Nazis. They became from something, too, and there are MANY parallels in our society with what became accepting of the Nazis.

Step by step and quickened by mile after mile we are going down the path of Nazism. You need to watch the video.
No. I will not watch the video because it cheapens the deaths of millions of Nazi victims. When people go down the emotional appeal of comparing apples to Nazi's they have forfeited any legitimacy their arguments may contain.

What people need to understand is in the 30's and early 40's there we're bona fide Nazi and Communist parties in America. There was a Nazi meeting in 1939 that filled the old Madison Square Garden. Ford and Linburgh we're Nazi supporters. Ford and GHW Bush sold war equipment to Biter throughout WW2. Trump's movement is a Neo-Nazi movement. There's a good reason why the radicals that support him wear swastikas.

1 - No. I will not watch the video because it cheapens the deaths of millions of Nazi victims. 2 - When people go down the emotional appeal of comparing apples to Nazi's they have forfeited any legitimacy their arguments may contain.

1 - If you have not (will not) watched the video, then how can you determine that it "--cheapens the deaths of millions of Nazi victims. --"?? I sensed absolutely NO such impression!

2a - "--apples to Nazi's --" - what are you talking about??

2b - An old quote that seems to fit here is: "Those who don't know history, tend to repeat it." I gathered that this guy was pretty accurate with his comparisons of NY with Ger., and anyone who can't see the parallels of '30s Germany with todays politics is either totally unaware of todays political climate, or so wrapped up in their own personal lives that they can't see over 2 days in the future! Or, even worse, they agree with the control efforts of the left!!!!!:eek:

wow, that's quite the estimation of your viewing habits. So if I can get you to watch one of my car videos, will I start making money with 'em?

Also a convenient excuse to avoid discussing the parallels behind how the Nazi party came to power ... and what is happening not only in our nation, but world wide.

I'm not talking about the video. I'm talking about the thread and it's initial title.

If somebody has something important to say or relay and they resort to demeaning Holocaust victims by using Nazi propaganda then their voice is invalid (even if their message was legitimate).

Since the title has been changed I'll check out the video on your implying it does not compair political issues, even if authoritarian rule is the real point, to Nazis (authoritarianism does not equate to Nazi, even though the Nazi regime was authoritarian).

I watched the first part of the video....enough to realize it is propaganda that minimalizes Nazi atrocities.

A fair discussion would be the DNC move towards socialism, the GOP move to restrict rights, and the political move towards a more authoritarian government.

But going to the extreme of referring to current politics as "Nazi" is minimalizing the deaths of people who died because of the Nazi regime.

I recommend “HITLERS CROSS”, don’t remember the author.
I remember telling my wife that it was scary how much our society mimicked the social/political conditions in Germany of the ‘30s.
While I did not care for this guy’s presentation, his points were spot on, & if this country doesn’t make some drastic changes soon, we will see some non-reversible changes to the detriment of our liberties.
Barring a direct intervention by Him, of course!
