Babylon & Materialism (Have we fallen under Babylon's spell?)

My experience of having lived in a poor, developing nation for 14 years affects how I read biblical passages related to wealth and materialism. Here are a couple of questions:

1. Who is rich?

2. When does being rich become sinful?

3. What are some principles to use when thinking about how much to give and what type of lifestyle is appropriate for God’s people?
