Please don't tell me you keep your Christmas lights up all year. Holiday displays year around are tacky. :)

    I ask again....

Please show me who the child is, since this is your point, and then we can talk. If you cannot, then yes, it is another one of your strawman.

I still feel that it is God that knows all and not man. If you have proof I'm wrong for thinking this, please share. Other wise, take down your strawman along with your lights and put them back up next year. :)

Gordon - You really need to learn more about predestinarianism before you post stuff like this.

You didn't mean to say "any other teaching of men that you have seen," did you? Cause I find the Bible just fine by itself. And it is true -- there is no man's name on my theology except the "God-man, Jesus.

As you are no doubt aware, the works of man will never match up to the righteousness of God. Calvinism is merely one primitive attempt to package God in human terms.

You know I can't do that. I can't know the condition of a man's heart when they die. On the other hand, neither can you. You insinuated there never has been a reprobate child to sing that song. Prove it. That seems to be the strawman.

I think the argument here is "can a child be reprobate?"

    rep·ro·bate (rĕp'rə-bāt') [IMG]
    n.
    1. A morally unprincipled person.
    2. One who is predestined to damnation.
    adj.
    1. Morally unprincipled; shameless.
    2. Rejected by God and without hope of salvation.
    from http://www.answers.com/topic/reprobate

Is a child a 'morally unprincipled person'? Actually, the younger they are, I suppose the more that applies! How can an infant be morally principled?

Can a child be predestined to damnation? I strongly refute that with Jesus' claim that the angels of the children always see the face of the Father in heaven (Matthew 18:10).

Is a child shameless? Of course, at first! Grabbing the biggest piece of cake, pulling the wings off a butterfly...these are simply what little kids do and they feel no shame about it at all. Morals and resultant shame are introduced to them as they grow; they don't come equipped!

Can a child be rejected by God without hope of salvation? No way. The children are His, Matthew 19:14.

Does God send people He loves to everlasting torment?

The answer to that is the same as to your question.

YES! ANY child can sing that song, for they ALL belong to the Lord! As Paul says in Romans 7, it is not until the law comes that sin has the power to cause separation from God (death spiritually). Children do things because of mommy and daddy, or playmates, or to get privileges or escape punishment -- not because of God's law. That comes later in life.

    Helen.

PS 58:3 Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward and speak lies.

PS 51:5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.
RO 5:18 Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men...
