Yes. We have mandatory background checks for all workers working with our youth in any capacity. It's simply a criminal history check. I believe our church insurance stipulates that we have this in place.

I am answering for myself since I don't have kids but I am not quite sure if mine do but if they don't they should. I live in a not so safe neighborhood so I don't see why they wouldn't

Yes. including references. Church Mutual Insurance has requirements and information on how/what to do and our church followed it to the "T". Guarding precious children and teens and their families was job 2 (after the spiritual focus).
