Your problem is that you now need to make it about race. Background checks do not depend upon the color of skin.

It is you conservatives who continually scream about having voter ID cards for minorities. If we have them at all it should be for everyone and they should be very easy to obtain. But no, the GOP and conservatives want to install procedures that make it hard for the poor and minorities to obtain them. Such as the Alabama GOP wanting to close 31 voter registration offices, all in majority minority communities.

Please done try to play the race card when that is what is behind what you and other conservatives plan. And when someone points it out at least be honest enough to examine your beliefs and admit it.

Thanks.

Wrong. Your side is the one who makes it about minorities.

Only trying to protect their rights while the GOP and conservatiges wants to deny them. After all, they might vote wrong. Rather like how my wife was put through the ringer when she registered to vote way back in 1961,

Voter ID should be applied across the board.

Totally agree. But in reality this is a tempest in a teapot. At least where vote we are mailed id cards and if my, your, or anyone's name is not on the list they do not vote. So, what is the big scream about forcing people to go to a particular place to get their voter card. Why not just mail it to them? Why make it difficult for anyone?

Is your name checked against a voter list?

It may be legitimately argued that Democrats and Liberals wish to facilitate voter fraud by not requiring proof that the voter is who he claims to be.

I do not know about other States, but mine does not require a voter card. My name is checked against a list of eligible voters (which also contains their addresses and whether or not they have voted) at the polling place. Every time that I have voted in the last twelve years, that list has been in plain view on the poll worker's table. Since Wisconsin, until now, has not required an ID as proof; I could have chosen a name that was not checked off as having already voted, confirmed my false identity with the address displayed, and stolen their right to vote. Anyone else could have also done the same to me.

Is your name checked against a voter list?

Yes. As of the next election, I am also required to prove that I am who I say that I am.

There is nothing is this post that is true or even close to reality.

Ironic that CTB gives a Bad Spelling rating to a post that quotes his own bad spelling of the word don't.

Want to trade? Minorities have a background check for voting and white just have to show a photo ID to buy a gun?

This stupid jingle presupposed a double lie... boy, could you possibly be discerning enough to see that?

So, crabby, are you under the impression that only US citizens can serve in the US military and thus have dog tags? There are presently over 80,000 non-US citizens in the US military.

Another subject you seem terribly ignorant of.
