1. You haven't been around construction sites much.

2. You are well-indoctrinated in evolution. The classification of 'hominoid' was made how and by whom? Think about it.

I spent about 20 years as an ergonomist, frequently visiting such sites, and helping them reduce material handling injuries. Perhaps you haven't been on hundreds of them.

I understand the theory, and the evidence for it. "Indoctrination" is a scare word, which is probably inappropriate in a discussion of this sort.

The classification of 'hominoid' was made how and by whom?
A creationist. Carl Linnaeus, the guy who developed the binomial nomenclature we use in naming organisms.

Think about it.
Let's see... he said...

"I demand of you, and of the whole world, that you show me a generic character...by which to distinguish between Man and Ape. I myself most assuredly know of none. I wish somebody would indicate one to me.

If I had called man an ape, or vice versa, I would have fallen under the ban of all the ecclesiastics. It may be that as a naturalist I should have done so."

I see what you mean... I think.

I was married to a contractor for twenty years. I have been on quite a few building sites, thank you, as I was his partner.

The classification of hominoid, then, is one done rather randomly out of fear from what I get of your post. Not much science in that...

My experience is that the guys actually doing the work are in much better shape than the average American.

And we see that in back injury rates, for a given level of stress.

Linneaus, although he was a creationist, acknowledged that humans and other apes were really a single group, and that he erred in not so classifying them.

Seems a telling admission to me.
