Let's take a poll on this subject. That will help bring closure to the yeas and nays on whether to celebrate Christmas or not.

Shalom, and Merry Christmas

If Charles didn't write that, maybe it was Baptist that doesn't celebrate Christmas

Please don't get angry with my above comment. I was just trying to make a funny. I don't want to offend anyone who Biblically holds to the belief, or principle that Christmas is a pagan holiday.

That is your right; and it is also the truth. It is a pagan holiday, but, the church has claimed it and made it a Holyday!

I celebrate Christ's birth during this season, but I also like the Christmas decorations and trees that are tradition for this country. They come at the same time of year, but 2 different types of celebration.

Does that make me a semi-pagan?

You've been served with a repeal, Jim. What say you??? By the way, just where do you think the term originated, or has its roots?

The term bah, humbug was not in the Dickens novel, but it was used in the American film.
modern usage, the word is most associated with Ebenezer Scrooge, a character created by Charles Dickens. His famous reference to Christmas, "Bah! Humbug!", declaring Christmas to be a fraud, is commonly used in stage and television versions of A Christmas Carol

Cheers,

Jim

Hmm, I don't have my print copy to hand, but found this in the online copy

HERE

“A merry Christmas, uncle! God save you!” cried a cheerful voice. It was the voice of Scrooge’s nephew, who came upon him so quickly that this was the first intimation he had of his approach.

“Bah!” said Scrooge, “Humbug!”

My apologies, maybe I was reading a film script and did not realize it. I did further research and found "Bah Humbug" in the novel itself. Maybe it was added after the original was proof read?:tongue3:
