Well, GWB is a gambler. This will either turn out to show him as a hero or a bigger goat than he is already perceived to be.

I really dont think this is a good idea, but if they committ to it then I just hope it works.

As much as we all may have doubts about the success of this plan, no politician wants to do nothing, have the economy collapse, and be blamed for it(which is what would happen to him/her regardless of whether or not having a deal caused the collapse or not).
