There are tradeoffs either way, Mike. On the one hand, in our town we have Mickey D's, Mr. Donut and Pizza Hut, plus any number of fast food sushi places :D , but on the other hand if you come to preach for me there may only be about 10 Japanese in the service, probably none of them new.

And I would love to have the actual wherewithal to make a legitimate invite.I'm afraid the only 2 IFB churches here are KJVO types. If a new work does'nt start up sometime soon I guess it will be time for a new church plant here in Spokane. My choice would be to help a new pastor start up a church rather then starting one up and then calling a pastor.Simple reason is to not have the congregation looking to you everytime they disagree with the pastor. If they have a question they can go to him first which is the way it should be.

To further explain myself, I have a heart for church planting,I just do not have the heart of a pastor, learned that the hard way.

Its pretty bad when you are afriad of churches (KJV only) that love the Bible. How have we gotten to the point in Baptist circles that holding to a KJV position has become a poison? I see this attitude throughout the entire board.

    Dear C4K,
Let me give that some thought and prayer.

    Dear Mike,
First of all I am KJV preferred. My daily reading and Bible study is from the KJ Study Bible. However I have read and trust the preface by the translators. My experience has been that KJVO churches have along with the KJVO stance several other extra legal practices that hinder Gods' work.On the other hand I have also run into one or two KJVO churches which do not carry that belief to extremes who have a heart for God and souls and do not have extra legal practices.I do not hold to any version or translation worship. The original writings of the Bible were in Greek,Hebrew, and Aramaic, the kings english was not spoken by anybody on the planet then. That is why I am teaching myself greek and when I am proficient in greek I will learn hebrew. So based on personal experience I do look at a KJVO church with a jaundiced eye.

I apologize it was not my intent to get into a versions thing.
I would be willing to help someone plant a church who:
Is not an onlyist on BV's
Believes the Bible is Gods' word from cover to cover.
    Is OSAS.
    Pre-mil,Pre-Trib.
    Is a soul winner.
Is Fundamentalist in the R.A. Torrey sense of the word.
Is on fire for the Lord.
    Who is not extra legal.

I would imagine someone like that could come out of the Moody ext. up here in Spokane or maybe out of your school down there in Oregon.
