Exactly. I don't even remember who it was that baptized me, but I remember being baptized. I was making a statement to the world about what had taken place in my life testifying to the work of Christ. I wasn't worried about who was placing me in the water.

Of course any believer can baptize, but in our local assembly leadership (Pastors/Elders) authorize both the person to be baptized and the person doing the baptism. Usually, like Philip, it is the person who helped the person being baptized to Christ. Older folks by our main Pastor, but often younger folks by our youth Pastor. But as others have noted, it is the person (or persons) being baptized and making a public declaration of faith, that is the center of the event. I usually had to wipe my eyes before I got up to leave.
