Baptist and Free Mason

This is not a thread to bash Masons, but I was just wanting to know if there are any Baptist sects that flat out reject the Free Masons and the like. Also while I'm at it, What other denominations reject them?

I know some Churches have it in their constitution that one can not be a member of such organizations. I can't remember which ones, as I read that somewhere years back and can't remember where I read it.

Thanks for your time.

In the ORB's, some assocs. okay it, others don't. It basically boils down to a church-by-church rule of accepting them or not, I reckon.

Little round balls, duh! :laugh::love2:

Old Regular Baptists. Just kidding Brother. I pray you didn't take offense to my first line. Merry CHRISTmas!!!

None taken. Sometimes folks throw these letters out and I ain't got a clue as to what they mean, I just read everything else and hope I can figure it out. Sometimes I do and sometimes I'm left wondering.

Merry Christmas to you and yours! and a Happy and Blessed New Year!

masons are a "false religion, with a false gospel"...

They emphasis good works and have secret rituals that initiates newcomers into "hidden knowledge" that was NOT from God...

That ALL religion equal, as you experience God as you him, by Bible Koran etc!

basically teach saved by combo good works and their rites, NO Christian should partake of them, but should expose the deeds in darkness by exposing them to the light!

My thought is that there can be Baptists who are also Masons, and Masons who are also Baptists.

There CANNOT be Masons who are born again Christians or born again Christians who are Masons.

The difference is subtle, but I have found that most Baptists who are also Masosns or Masons who are also Baptists are generally lost, or so it seems from their fruits. The Lodge always takes precidence to God.

Over the years I have never seen a Baptist church that had such in their constitution although I certainly believe it should be along with some other organizations with exclusions. I do know of one Baptist church about 60 miles from me that requires a person to be a Mason to hold any office in the church. I am not saying that is in their constitution but no one is ever put into any position who is not a Mason.

yes...

Baptists born again can join the masonic Lodge, but that would be in error...
NO mason would get saved IF was solely through their religious system!

Over the years I have come to know many Lodge Members within the Church and all of them seem to be lacking. If they are occupying the pulpit I'll find some place else to attend. If you know their handshake and recognize some of their "key words" and "comments" it's easy to spot 'em to begin with.

To me, it's a sinister organization no matter how they present themselves and many otherwise fine men have become entangled in their Secret Organization only to regret it later in life.

Not so many years ago a Lodge Member had his wife ask me if I'd join (which is a no-no to begin with) and when I declined the guy turned against me. Go figure... He was a Methodist.

They claim to NOT be a religion, yet they honor all scriptures as valid expressions of God, and state that by partaking of their 'secret rituals", passed down from ancient times, they can be prepared for and go to the "Celestial Lodge" in the sky!

Teach good works and their rites gets one to heaven!

Masonry is in direct conflict with Christianity and upon studing the higher degrees such as Scottish Rite this should be come quite obvious to a true believer. However most Masons only go as far as the first three degrees and therefore are no exposed to the dogma and ritual as taught in the higer degrees.
I don't know of any denominations that specifically prohibit membership in the organization but in studying the teachings I believe anyone who seeks guidiance from the Holy Spirit and searches the Scripture will find Free Masonry in conflick with Christianity.
Yes there area many of our Ex Presidents who were Masons along with some highly respected members of my church some of whom are deacons.
Because most of these people are civic leaders in our community
and hold important positions-on our school boards and courts most preachers are reluctant to speak out against the Masons.

Berean, the first clue/red flag as to the intent of their society is the word "secret". It all goes down hill from there. They claim to honor the Master Builder but it's all about Secrecy? Bad news!

I think Frogman (a moderator) would take exception to this.
