This is from another thread - talking about the Statement of faith of a Baptist college:
1. That all members are entitled to equal privileges in the church.
Does this mean that an 8 year old child has the same rights as an adult?

 1. That baptism is immersion in water, by a scripturally authorized administrator, of a believer in Christ; that its purpose is to symbolize the death of the subject to sin and his resurrection to a newness of life
Where does Scripture talk about a "authorized administrator"

Think about it, a father baptizing his own son, one of the greatest things he could ever do!

Our last pastor initiated this in our church, Made me wish I could have done the same to my daughter & son who were baptized together!! I can only try to grasp the emotional & spiritual impact!!!!!!!!:)
Just like I would have really loved to be present at the birth of both of mine - not an option way back then!:(

Salty, since you are quoting the Statement of Faith of Southwest Baptist University, I would appreciate your changing that from "rlvaughn said" to "Southwest Baptist University said."

Thanks.
