Baptizing in name of Jesus.

Are y'all running into a lot of black preachers preaching this? I am running into quite a few preaching baptize only in the Name of Jesus. Jesus name is literally "blood." Salvation comes at time of baptism by water. We save people because God living in us makes us God.

Just wondering if it's getting popular large scale or just around here. The more you press them on doctrine, the crazier it gets.

That's a long time practice of the various pentecostal churches. It is based on the book of Acts in 2:38 and 3(?) later times in which it is said that the person(s) was/were baptized in the name of Jesus, and these last 2 or 3 they began to speak in other tongues immediately after. Thus, it is a wedge issue for them, where they think they've found where virtually all churches have been doing it wrong, and they are now doing it right .... not unlike when the early baptists declared churches have been doing baptism wrong; that is, sprinkling infants, rather than immersing professed believers.
