a sermon snippet from John Piper. From Last Sunday's sermon.

Yes, this too is on abortion.

Hard to believe there is any Christian that can defend their vote for abortionists (even tho they claim they are against abortion) after hearing that. I hope all that voted for Obama realize the blood of innocent children is on their hands.

Here's Obama's speech in it's entirety.

"On the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we are reminded that this decision not only protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, but stands for a broader principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters. I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose. While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue, no matter what our views, we are united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, reduce the need for abortion, and support women and families in the choices they make. To accomplish these goals, we must work to find common ground to expand access to affordable contraception, accurate health information, and preventative services. On this anniversary, we must also recommit ourselves more broadly to ensuring that our daughters have the same rights and opportunities as our sons: the chance to attain a world-class education; to have fulfilling careers in any industry; to be treated fairly and paid equally for their work; and to have no limits on their dreams. That is what I want for women everywhere."

Again, in his last words, he insinuates that babies are burdens. And he insinuates that motherhood isn't compatible with getting an education, having a fulfilling career, nor being treated fairly.

He, in stating that girls should have no limits to their dreams as boys have no limits, implies that fatherhood is of no consequence to a man and that motherhood is a dream killer.

Sickening.

Since when is a President responsible for whether or not abortions occur?

We have had so called "pro-life" Presidents tickle our ears for the last 25+ years, none of whom have stopped the carnage... They can't! Are we going to hold Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and both Bush's to the same standard? These men are no more responsible for abortion than anyone else.

The abomination of child murder will only end when the lost are pursuaded in Christ.

Bush was an abortionist. Millions of abortions occurred during his administration. Worse than that, like his father and Ronald Reagan before him, he duped evangelical Christians into voting for him because he said the right words against abortion but then did very little about it. Their blood is on your hands if you voted for him. The blood of innocent Iraqi noncombatants killed by our troops is also on your hands.

JC, would you please quit with your hate towards our troops in defense of your abominable view of abortion.

Our troops don't TRY to kill innocent people.
But abortionists do..

Your hate for our troops is horrible. YOU slander our men and women in uniform everytime you can, by charging them with Murder.

My brother has been in Iraq for the last several months. He and our other troops do not go around killing innocent civilians for the fun of it, and I am outraged that you continue to insinuate this. If you want to debate abortion, fine, but kindly stop insulting our brave troops who are out serving their country while we sit in our comfortable homes safe and snug.

YOU GO GIRL!!!

WHOO HOO!

There is no excuse for making fun of American Troops by Americans!

But what do you expect from people that are pro-choice?...
Pro-choice people support terrorism...

WHAT?

You heard me.. .

Terrorism! Imagine being the baby in the womb, and having your arms ripped off.. or your legs ripped off..

And then some people who call themselves Christian say, "oh, it is just a glob of cellular mass"...

For the Baby, it experiences PURE TERROR!

So, when Pro-choice people blame the troops for fighting terrrorism, it doesn't surprise me.. for they support baby terrorism here on American soil. Why would they want to destroy it in Iraq? They just blame the GREAT MEN AND WOMEN in uniform for fighting it.

So you think soldiers in war is comparable to abortion, murdering a baby?
How sick
Bush signed to make partial birth abortion illegal, Obama supports any and all abortion, and will make it legal again. Once again, because of Obama and those who voted for him, babies in this country will be stabbed in the head with scissors and have their brain sucked out while they try the best their tiny bodies can to fight back.
And somehow to try to lessen this by comparing it to war.
again, how sick
These excuses will not ever stand before God when you answer to why you supported stabbing a baby in the head with scissors.

Then why do professing Christians support abortion?
they support abortion and the world, but not scripture and Christ.
Abortion will not end until christians stand up for whats right by scriptural standards, and stop making excuses for murdering babies.

Why is it people use the excuse, "you can't legislate morality" but then thinks that

Murder should be criminal?
Stealing should be criminal?
Rape should be criminal?

Etc?

But when the subject of Abortion comes up, people state that it will never be stopped by legislation.. we have to change hearts..

I agree we have to change hearts..

But I am not willing to lift criminal penalties on rape, just because the scum needs a spiritual heart transplant...

I just don't understand Christians that support the murder of babies...

OH... I mean "the women's right" to murder babies.. because we all know the pro-choice Christians on this board are "pro-life" (YEAH RIGHT)..

The Bible says something about a double minded man.. and saying you are pro-life and pro-choice is like saying, "I'm a Christian, but I hate Jesus"...

Opposites are not the same...

If a person is pro-choice they support murder...

There is no other way to interpret it.

JC you are lying! President Bush was not an abortionist and you know that is true! Perhaps you are trying to salve your conscience for voting for an abortionist but I doubt it. You also lie when you insist innocent Iraqi noncombatants have been killed by our troops because you have no proof, just propaganda put out by Bush haters like Turbin Durbin and Swift Boat Kerry and Rosie O'Donnell.

President Bush actively opposed abortion and signed the Partial Birth Abortion Ban into law, a bill that Clinton twice vetoed. As I have stated on this forum repeatedly the House of representatives was controlled by the democrats for 40 years until 1995. From 1973 until the Republicans took control of the House in 1995 there was not a single piece of legislation to limit abortion brought to the House floor for vote because the democrat party is the party of death, the party of abortuaries. Furthermore, your esteemed "dear leader" O'bama twice voted in the Illinois Senate against a bill that would require medical care for children who survived abortions. He is not only an abortionist but also a "just born" baby killer.

When the Republicans took control of the House they twice passed a ban on partial Birth Abortion only to have it vetoed by Clinton. Bush signed the bill into law after becoming president but the party of death now controls both houses of Congress and the executive. Coming down the road is the Freedom of Choice act which the pro death president O'bama has pledged to sign. This law would remove all restrictions on abortions, including those imposed by the states.

You will undoubtedly come back with some crap about only .2% of the abortions being affected by the ban on Partial Birth Abortions but that is more than democrats have done. They have done nothing to save a single child from being murdered in its mother's womb. Again the democrat party is the party of death and O'bama is the leader of the pack.

The only evangelicals that I know of that have been duped are those who vote for abortionists, at least I hope they have been duped and are not voting what they truely believe.

As one with family and friends serving as well, I echo the same sentiment. It seems to me that this attack on our troops was a lame attempt to justify ones support for a President who condones the murder of the helpless.

If you will notice, this tactic is a favorite of the liberals. When they cannot deny facts, they start a rabbit trail hoping to shift the focus to some topic they can prevail in; maybe another topic OR questioning the character of the poster.

At any rate they WILL NOT discuss the actual facts, but ever so slyly disrupt the flow of the thread so that the initial facts are fogged over, and the battle is then won; IE the facts are lost in the melee.

Pay close attention folks, and (try to) ignore the "bait & switch" tactics!!!

Have you actually say down and talked with soldiers who have fought in Iraq? If so, how many? Because you description of what happens their is quite different than mine.

I have two sons who have both been to Iraq for over a year. The story they tell me is one of Americans saving a tremendous amount of lives. My oldest is a medic and my youngest in infantry.

During the tour of Chris, my medic son, he treated about 20 to 1 Iraqis to US patiants. Many wounded from mines that were planted by SH years and years ago. Most due to illnesses that would kill them but were easily treatable if the Iraq government had built hospitals instead of palaces.

Kevin, a boy who I have coached for 15 years went to Iraq and was shot by a sniper, he recovered and went back to have his Hum-Vee destroted by an IED and 2 of his crew killed. He recovered from that and wanted to return but the Army would not let him. I asked him why and he told me that if the Americans could see what it is like there and how much poverty there is in such a rich country it would break their hearts. He wants to go back and help someone, doesn't matter that he doesn't know them or that he puts himself in danger.

Stephan, my youngest, writes home often telling stories of passing out water and supplies. They go to a village and are completely surrounded by those in need of medical attention. He says their medic will work till the lines are gone, no matter how long it takes. He is not an emotional person nor does he talk a lot, but he is very passionate about what they are doing. he has had to kill. He told of a story where a young Iraqi about 13 or 14 was wounded in action and they were able to save his life. So sometime innocents do get caught up in it, but the intent is far from what you make it out to be.

So I will support our troops and pray for them and the Iraqi people. My prayer is that God protect them all and remove the evil that influences the area so that his message can be delivered to all. You can continue to not support them if you wish. That is what they are fighting for. Your freedom to disagree. But please don't make it sound as if our troops are overthere murdering innocents. We all know that is not true.

Love and God Bless,
Keith
