Because Heaven Is a Musical Place . . .

Scripture More Accurately

Scripture plainly reveals that heaven is a musical place:

Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

Revelation 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. 3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. 4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Because God has revealed to us that heaven is a musical place, how does God want us who serve Him on the earth to profit from that revelation?

Ephesians 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

The Bible never says that everyone has to be able to carry a tune. God commands us all to sing praise to Him. Everyone should do so regardless of his ability to carry a tune.

Also, some, perhaps many, who cannot carry a tune might be able to learn how to sing more in tune. I had a non-Christian, non-Western musical background as a child, and I had a very hard time learning to carry a tune. I have worked very hard over the years at trying to improve and have made great improvements, but I still do not get all the notes right all the time.

Hopefully heaven has melodious buckets.

I was raised singing under my Daddy who was the song leader, we sang acapella... Over time I took over and was a song leader for 35 years... Was I good?... Well I never lost my job... Its called Heaven brethren, we will all harmonize up there... There will be no solo performances, we will all sing harmonious to the Lamb Of God, in perfect harmony... Never read in scripture where one angel sang any better than any other one, have you?... Earth is one thing we are trying for perfection, although we will never attain it... Heaven is perfection!... So who is worrying?... Brother Glen:)
