What is the sin of divination?

When we receive the salvation "package" from God at the rebirth, ALL that we are and will be already has happened to God, as he knows that while her ein the ohysical bodies, are part of His Kingdom, and he sees us already glorified and risen in Christ, but to us being in time, that is to us a Future event!

You turn God into a sinner, divining the future by gazing into a divine crystal ball. No scripture supports this fiction. When do you think time travel because a theological device to support unbiblical doctrine. The bible says God does the future because He predestines it, not the other way around. He brings about what He says would happen. Thus Jesus was killed according to God's foreknowledge and predetermined plan.

Folks, those arguing for the crystal ball are short on scripture and long of assertion.

First of all, I question the appropriateness of the titel of this thread since it has very little to do with what being saved means and instead discusses the nature of the Kingdom.

To be saved is to be rescued from the wrath of God.

As it pertains to the Kingdom- it is the realm of God's happy reign. In other words it is everywhere that God is happily recognized as King.

The Lord's Prayer says that our first prayer request when we pray should be for the earthly expansion of that Kingdom. "Thy Kingdom come (in other words) thy will be done ON EARTH as it is in Heaven (it is done with great cheer in Heaven.)"

The Kingdom is not some future thing- it is here now. It is the point of all that we do in the church.

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? Matt 19:16 there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? Mark 10:17 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

Would it be fair to say that in each of these accounts of having/inheriting eternal life Jesus equates to entering the kingdom of God and the disciples equate to being saved?

Sure. One is saved when he enters the Kingdom.

But a more appropriate title for this thread would be "Entering the Kingdom" since that is what it is about. Being saved is just ONE thing that takes place when one enters the Kingdom. And that one thing is not the primary talking point of this thread.

The primary talking point of this thread is what it means to enter the Kingdom.

When do we enter the kingdom of God? The answer depends on whether we mean, when do we enter the kingdom of God spiritually, or physically.

When God, in the Person of the Holy Spirit, baptizes us into Christ, we are transferred from the realm of darkness into the kingdom of His Son. In order to enter into the kingdom we must be born anew, thus after we are baptized into Christ's death, where we undergo the circumcision of Christ, we arise in Christ a new creation, born anew, and saved. We are sealed in Christ with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit forever.

So what is all this stuff about "inheriting" something or being heirs of something. Lets consider this idea.

Matthew 19:29 says if we leave what we loved for Christ's sake, we will receive better stuff including inheriting eternal life. One way to look at this is if we are saved we will receive better stuff, i.e. the blessings of salvation, which includes inheriting eternal life.

Matthew 25:35 refers to those on the right inheriting the kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world. So this "kingdom" has been prepared for the heirs, i.e. the children of God.

Mark 17:10 and Luke 18:18 refer to inheriting eternal life, recounting the story of the Rich Young Ruler.

Luke 10:25 has the lawyer asking about inheriting eternal life, with the answer being to love God and our neighbors with all our heart. So salvation does not come from believing the right doctrines, but from loving God with all our heart. And to do this, we must leave what we loved other than God, putting God alone on the throne of our heart.


Bottom line, it not just turning to God and trusting in Christ, it is also about leaving worldly treasures for the love of God.
